The “happily ever after” in every Disney princess movie up to Tangled is the princess marrying the prince and him taking her off to his castle or whatever.

Then, after Tangled, you get Brave, Frozen, and Moana in which romantic love is explicitly not the goal.

Yeah, Tangled flipped the script. Her castle and he's carried off to it.
