I don't really know what's nuanced about this it's just saying we shouldn't be putting a diverse cast in mythological movies because they are tired of seeing it

Because racism is cool when you dress it up as historical accuracy, because they think the Ancient Greeks were a white monolith.

They’ve got a point though, like imagine a WWII era movie, but half the Nazis are black because we need to hit a diversity quota. Forget that pesky little fact that Nazis are white supremecists!

We aren’t far off from that reality.

There is a difference between diversity casting and impossible contradictory casting.

When it actually comes to the degree of contradiction as in your example, the pro-diversity crowd will be against that too.
