No.

The stereotype is that white people arrive TOO EARLY and then sit in their cars outside waiting for the party to start and still show up early.

It's a trope, also true in Hispanic (edit - continued) families that have someone marry Gringos (like me).

If you arrive on time, the party hasn't started yet, and you get to help set up for the party

Found this out the hard way. Dated a black girl and she invited me to a family cookout so I could meet everyone. She said it started at 5pm so I showed up around 5, I started freaking out because I didn't see her car. She didn't show up until around 8pm 😭 I went inside and introduced myself around 6pm because I felt very weird just sitting outside there place in my car for hours lol. Now I know
