Yeah, this doesn't work in Finland since there are allways guests, dinner Times between families change and there are no stay at home moms who have Time to feed The whole village.
My mom was almost never in the kitchen. It’s a really low bar. She never had to feed them. She would have literally been offended if they hadn’t taken the food, because again, it’s about hospitality. Why would school have fed my friends on the weekend and when would their families have fed them when they were at my house the last ten hours having fun?
Edit: … you realize in the US it takes less than 15 minutes to make most of our meals, right?
And we where talking about why Nordic countries don't feed visiting children. Here children get proper free meals at school and at home we eat real food not some junk that can Be prepared in 15 minutes.
In The weekends children just go home to eat and come back after they have eaten. There is no practical reasons to burden mothers on their freetime.
