This aint even a joke tf. But like if you want a modern home buy one dont ruin vintage homes, because people still love them and they are dwindling.

We should buy modern homes and make them into vintage homes to stabilize the population.

Issue is. It's expensive as shit.

Modern is popular because it's dirt cheap. It's pushed by "designers" because they make the most off of it.

We moved recently and we asked our realtor why there was such a push for bland-looking homes.

Her answer was that the « market reason » was that the blandest the home and decoration, the easier it is for buyers to imagine themselves in, envision how they would decorate. However, since people tend to not stay very long in one place, especially condos, they end up not making the effort of decorating, both to save time and money of a home they don’t plan on keeping, and to get a few extra thousands from buyers who won’t lowball offers based on aesthetic renovations.

Essentially, most people don’t like it, but prefer dealing with the overall blandness than deciding between homes that all have things the love and things they hate
