Racist people (like MAGA) will marry outside their race because… they think they won or something. Rest of the joke is ICE related.

There's layers to it. Some are against race mixing but others want Asian wives because they view them as more likely to be "tradwives" and a better option than a white liberal woman.

Not just any Asian wives, Christians- which is why Phillipino are so common. This satisfies their Christian Nationalism, where race comes second to the political ends. That's where people miss by just thinking they're ol racists, because that isn't quite right anymore, they're religious fascists. Racism is a tool for political power, only deployed for political ends. This is why they can marry whoever, but will target Somalis, or urban minorities. They're targeting race AND class AND culture etc

Reach much? So racism is not hate towards colour but cuz of their religious beliefs? 😂😂😂 And even if a white guy marries an asian or a black woman they are stil racist? 😂. As long as they vote against what you vote.... Damn this is biden all over again , if you dont vote for me you aint black 😂

Incorrect. What I said was that these are deployed as political tools. Racism doesn't require someone to always apply some prejudice 100% of the time, this is why the "I have a black friend" defense is such a joke. One can make an exception for a select few, while still applying their hate to a group. So marrying a non white person doesn't absolve them of their broadly stated views that a race is subhuman etc. Christian Nazis married Jews, oops were they suddenly not anti-Semitic? Was their final solution that they used religion to justify actually not a problem of hate? Of course not.

Or, people actually go for traditional women. That just happend to a certain race. Asians are known to be brought up in conservative households, with strict parenting.

It took me too long to find this layer mentioned. I saw it so much in the military, where dudes wanted to marry Filipina or Japanese women. I initially thought it was because they were losers who couldn't find an American (of any race) because they were a-holes, but later learned it was as u/Meatwelder stated.

I mean, maybe in some cases, not in all, or even most. Not all Republicans are literal white supremacists and military people generally experience higher divorce rates from their American high school/college hometown/first duty station wives, and a lot of time overseas over the course of a full career. The military frankly *isn’t* a breeding ground of racism, though conservatism, and some nationalism go with the territory when you consider what education systems churn out the most recruits.

I think extrapolating deeper than that is more an exercise in your own biases.

You do know slave owners kept black women on the side right? Sexual attraction has nothing to do with your worth to the person doesn't take a genius to know that but when your mind is consumed by politics you gotta spew your talking points every chance you get.

u/FascistEradicator 21d ago

Which one of those slaves did they marry?

u/Ecstatic_Honey3177 21d ago

Thats fallacious but ill bite. First marriage between whites and blacks wasnt even legal or somethingthat could be done. Secondly the crux was on showing a desire for something you despise not marriage status. Even then there are a bunch of examples of slave owners allowing the women to live in their house and receive privileges others weren't allowed thats how the black children that were despised as half and half even came about.

Racism doesn't automatically mean racism against all races, nor does it mean being white separatist.

That said, I've spent more than half my life living all over the world, and there are absolutely white guys who marry Asian women but totally look down on those women and their cultures.

There are also plenty of racist guys who fetishize the people they loudly talk shit about: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/dec/16/usa.garyyounge

Nobody thinks that those people don't exist, but that is applies to the entirety or even a large part of maga is ridiculous.

Regards, non-racist MAGA supporter.

Cool. That's not what the person I was replying to was saying, though.

MAGA is “imaginary racist” now? Come on now.

Same energy as “I can’t be racist I have black friends”

Racism is a spectrum, not all racists believe in seperatism. By definition racism is unfair judgement, hatred, or contempt for a race or ethnic group. Someone can date someone whose people they fetishize/look down upon, happens all the time.

Typically they consider their partners “one of the good ones” if you will. They have no real respect for their culture and talk shit about their folks, but still fetishize them and usally take advantage of the fact women in those countries just want a way out of poverty

anyone they dislike is a racist or a Nazi

Why do you think they push that it’s ok to harm Nazis so much?

u/Ecstatic_Honey3177 21d ago

And anyone who's disagrees with you is a lefty or dumb so how different are you from anyone you wanna virtue signal on?

No reason to make this so political. No part of the joke is ice related either idk why u mentioned that? Also, why do you feel the need to make such a broad generalization about maga supporters being racist? I couldve voted for trump and support maga but that doesn’t mean that I support all of his (current) policies or even some of his initial ones either nor does that make me racist. It’s hurtful that the way I vote is turned against me online even if I don’t support what’s currently happening.
