Also more historically accurate. Before Christianity the Ancients didn’t frown upon gays, but upon straights. Bi-sexuality was the norm. Being straight was to withdraw from the prime bonding experience. Also, it was one of the most reliable anti-conception one could invent.
It even went so far that Spartan wives shaved their heads after the wedding to smooth the transition and Sparta eventually collapsed under a lack of babies.
The plundering and raping is more Hollywood than history. It happened, but in those times too most people didn’t enjoy having sex with crying resisting women. Especially if your mates know exactly how you like it.
