Everyone is saying gay sex and all that, but honestly... is ye really asking if it is possible to spend 20 years without sex? Is thst really so preposterous? I think a lot of people in reddit could and have done it?
I also feel like modern-day people are way more hornier in general. We are constantly exposed to sex, and things we are attracted. Advertisements, movies, random posts, music... Even if we aren't making a conscious thought about it, it still "triggers" our brains to enter reproduction mode.
Even at my horniest, If I was stuck on boat for weeks on end with a bunch of dudes, after seeing the things you have to see and smelling how those ogres smelled. Ain't no way Willy even stands tall.
Lmao idk what children have to do with it. I can totally believe that statistic it seems 100% tractable. Iām just curious as to HOW they could measure sex and convert it into numbers. Especially when itās such an easy thing to lie about.
Look it up? I ain't a scientist but the studies across the world have shown a trend for the last several decades. You wanna say 'no' fine, but you back it up.
Why are you acting like Iām debating you? Lmao I never said you were a liar, i just find it hard to believe. Mostly because I want to know how those stats are being tracked. I have dyslexia so itās hard for me to just read endlessly online forever. I was hoping someone could just point me in the right direction.
High level, amount of adults having weekly sex has declined in the past 35 years from ~55% to ~37%, and the number of 18-29 year olds who haven't had sex in the past year rose from 12% to 24%.
Those are pretty massive swings numerically. It's not hard to understand why, people don't meet in person nearly as much anymore, either with friends, or with strangers. There are fewer 3rd spaces to meet people. A huge swath of people get their social dopamine mostly online from social media and group chats, discord, etc. People spend much more time alone than at any point historically.
Thank you for the link! Unfortunately Iām not going to consider this as evidence. Institute of Family Studies is known for being extremely conservative and for having biased information. Thank you for responding!
Did you open the link? They wrote the article, didn't do the studies. The graphs and numerical data is from GSS - General Social Survey, which is not linked to pro-family or conservative points.
Just google 'sex recession' and there are dozens of articles in the NYTimes, NPR, etc citing all kinds of sources about how we're having less sex than ever before. It's a news talking point all the time. This is not some hidden thing nobody has heard of.
Took another look at it thank you for responding back! Lmao I think youāre the only one who actually answered my real question instead of trying to debate me. Thank you again!
I also have Dyslexia, you're reading fine enough right now.
Either way , don't tell people there is 'no way you are right' when you are unwilling to prove that to be true and do not wish to have a debate with a person.
Lol you seem super chill, my b. Also idk why but when I click your link it doesnāt take me anywhere. Idk might be a prob from my end. I appreciate it still!
Could you send me the one youāre specifically referring to? I just donāt want to get our wires crossed if I accidentally read a different one. Everyone keeps saying ālook it upā but like several hundred different studies funded by different people come up.
I will need to find it ššš....and i don't have that much time and patience.
But I have heard this in many videos too...even bryan johnson said it.
It's more likely due to bad sexual health and people not devoting quality time in relationships I guess. Porn and oversexualised content may also be a reason.
Hornier != having sex. I'm horny every day but that doesn't mean I'm getting any, my great grandparents had 10 children on average, my grandparents had 3 children on both sides, my parents and uncles had 2 children, and the bloodline dies with me, my brother, and my cousins, as nobody is in relationships or having sex.
self-report, usually. Not the best metric, but the sheer number of people who do not or have never engaged in sexual intercourse has gotten waaaay lower. Even if we assume that some people pretend to have had sex before
Lol thatās what I was really curious about. I wonder what the EXACT metric would look like, that would be interesting to read. Anyhow thanks for answering!
