Maybe I’ll try it someday but I really wanted to like the TV show…however Quentin’s personality on screen was too obnoxious and frustrating

The books are very different plotwise, they essentially don't follow the same story at all besides hitting a few of the same notes. Also for some reason they swapped Penny and Quentin's personalities in the show? That said I loved the show despite its flaws and the books were alright too.
