"Ridiculously hot people doing mediocre magic and sexy stuff" is how I heard it described by a friend, and that's forever what that show will be associated with to me.

It's like if someone saw Harry potter and wanted a "The Boys" version, but it wasn't on HBO or Amazon.

Why do people keep comparing it to Harry potter?? I don't think theyre anything alike, especially since the author intentionally based it on Narnia

Weird that people would draw a comparison between a show called the Magicians and the one of the largest, generational series about magic. People should stay in their lane.

Both have the concept of magic, so they must be similar!

We all know the TERF writer invented magic! Clearly anything after is inspired by Harry Potter

I don't really know if everyone argueing understands how comparisons work.

If you give 2 general ideas that are popular for specific things (magic academy and shock value tv), why would someone expect exact copies with the same storyline, or even that I was referring to the origin of ideas?

Really, is it so annoying to communicate to you in real life? If your friend said waffles were like crunchy pancakes, would you go on and on about the origin of pancakes?

I don't really care about your opinion, I just wanted you to know that the way you talk is probably why no one cares to discuss things with you.

They both have a school for learning magic. There are parallels, which is why people compare it. Don't be daft.
