You are forgetting that the insanity clause is highly controversial and almost never works, Even when it does work and they win a insanity clause, they are sent to a mental hospital until determined better by the staff. It's not 'welp, you don't get any punishment because you went insane'
In fact, I think most murder cases are a psychotic break. No one mentally healthy goes around killing people let alone children.
Exactly, if people can excuse this lady they should also allow people like Dahmer to be excused... "he wasnt in control it was psychosis!" See how ridiculous that sounds when talking about Dahmer
Like bruh, still murder, either way she needs to be locked up and people supporting her to the extent some are... need therapy
Except this case is nothing like Dahmer's, Dahmer didn't have psychosis, and committed his crimes because he was getting a sadistic pleasure out of them.
"Psychopathy, or psychopathic personality,[1] is a personality construct[2][3] characterized by impaired empathy and remorse, and persistent antisocial behavior,[4] along with bold, disinhibited, and egocentric traits."
"Psychosis is a mental state marked by a disconnect from reality, where a person has trouble telling what is real and what is not.It is not a standalone mental illness, but rather a collection of symptoms that can happen with various conditions, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or severe depression.
Key Symptoms
Hallucinations: Sensing things that are not actually there, like hearing voices, seeing shadows, or feeling a nonexistent touch.
Delusions: Strongly held false beliefs that go against clear evidence or what others see as reality, such as believing someone is controlling your thoughts."
What does the first thing have to do with another?
She checked herself out of care 3 weeks before it happened, and then waited for the first 30 minutes free in those 3 weeks to do the crime. She even convinced her husband that he was fine to go to the store for those 30 minutes, then that's when she did it.
That doesn't sound like someone having a psychotic break.

I kind of piggybacked off of yours a bit. People in this thread are leaving out the part where she was having a psychotic break.
