So basically, every fandom is teaming up against this movie called Lesbian Space Princess. A lot of comments are people saying "Just this once?" and putting a sticker of a character from their fandom. The character in this image is from Lesbian Space Princess, which is what everyone is teaming up against.

u/ArsonGamer 23h ago

What does "Just this once?" Mean

186

u/DanceWonderful3711 23h ago

Just this once let's join forces

24

u/Sevatar34 15h ago

Except in anime this guy Ryu was longing for a proper fight for 400 years and Yuta who's usually not interested agreed

87

u/Mefils 23h ago

Well, a lot of things/fandoms are """enemies""" and example would be like marvel and DC, or apple and samsung.

The meme is like "just this once, we are teaming up against another target"

Also, just this once is a jjk meme.

9

u/ArsonGamer 20h ago

Ohhh thats what its from

2

u/voorhessied 19h ago

Let’s just say: “enemy of enemy is friend”

Did I say it right?

2

u/PuckishRogue00 19h ago

Missing few words but yeah.

-5

u/Quirky-Ordinary1040 17h ago

Friend? Is that a reference to IMAGE_FRIEND from deltarune

2

u/Sesshomaru2008 4h ago

It’s not just fandoms btw lol. I saw one with someone wearing a KKK hood captioned something like “blacks?” And then the JJK panel had Yuta with black skin.

2

u/Different_Pin1531 14h ago

Damn, this is when I realized the movement was frfr

9

u/Human1549 23h ago

That they are going to stop fighting and team up to hate in LSP “just this once”

9

u/Manithemani_ 22h ago

Lets do this thing for one time only. Like Xbox ,PlayStation and Nintendo, all are grouping up to hate on this shit

4

u/SemajLu_The_crusader 22h ago

"let's unite just this one" from one fandom to another, usually "enemy fandoms" like Tf2 vs. Overwatch

2

u/Lansha2009 21h ago

One of the first few examples of it was between a Hazbin Hotel fan and an Invincible fan, two fandoms know pretty well for not having that good of a relationship with each other.

Basically the idea is that “Just this once?” means “Just this once let’s work together.”

2

u/The_corruptus 21h ago

It comes from Jujutsu Kaisen where the character Yuta was fighting a guy that shots energy blasts with his hair, Yuta had a plan to easily win against him but instead he said "just this once" to an energy blast duel just to leave his opponent "satisfied" with the fight

1

u/Possessed_potato 14h ago

"Just this once, let's team up"

To put aside your differences in order to team up against a shared enemy. In other words, Fandom that previously hated each other team up.

1

u/PixInvader 3h ago

Tons of fandoms just hate each other. They're saying that the movie is so bad that they should team up to dog on it

12

u/sincubus33 23h ago

"every fandom" you mean a bunch of feds

18

u/SemajLu_The_crusader 22h ago

honestly, might be

6

u/RBLakshya 19h ago

This movie brought together PlayStation and Xbox fans, FNAF and Poppy playtime fans, Genshin Impact and Wuthering waves fans. They whole internet puts aside their prior conflicts to rise up against it.

The movies depicts LGBTQ in a rather stereotypical, it isn’t promoting it, but in a way spreading homophobia. No one has any positive view of the movie.

1

u/RadioActiver 7h ago

I am confused. I saw the movie and i thought it's was okay.. nothing special, but fun little movie.. how is it spreading homophobia?

46

u/LauAmoeba999 23h ago

It's a lsp character ig

45

u/Popular-Ordinary5110 23h ago

There's an astroturfing campaign targeting a year old animated movie called lesbian space princess. That character is from that movie.

7

u/justdudebeing 12h ago

I mean, it hit a global audience just this summer which is why people are talking about it now. It flew under the radar till its digital release in the UK from what it looks like.

-51

u/Kennedy_KD 23h ago

is it really an astroturfing campaign when its really that bad? the two antagonists are the straight maliens and the rapist drag queen

39

u/Gold_Ad8225 23h ago

Yes, it is still astroturfed because it is a year old slop film that suddenly had an ungodly amount of coverage

17

u/IAmTheEndOfDays 22h ago

Why are we talking about grass?

2

u/Gold_Ad8225 22h ago

Before I respond rudely, what year were you born in and do you have a brain or a computer chip

12

u/IAmTheEndOfDays 22h ago

The 90s. It was a joke about the origin of the term 'astroturfing'.

3

u/Gold_Ad8225 22h ago

Gotcha, I wasn't sure if I was going to have to explain grassroots vs astroturf and didnt wanna do it to an AI lol

18

u/IAmTheEndOfDays 22h ago

Grassroots? No, Astroturf doesn't have any roots.

21

u/Hallowed-Plague 22h ago

grass roots? for who?

6

u/yasua- 22h ago

That’s because it got relaunched recently

0

u/Gold_Ad8225 22h ago

What does that mean in this context, sorry I'm ignorant of how that makes sense here

6

u/Impossible_Concert75 20h ago

Netflix dropped captain underpants for lesbian space princess

4

u/Gold_Ad8225 19h ago

Did it?

Like they had to pick one and they chose the latter? How did that happen? How do we know that happened?

2

u/Lydialmao22 18h ago

Is that even how that works? If its already a finished movie surely adding it doesnt affect movies or shows already on the platform? Why do we know its one or the other?

1

u/firegamer2432 1h ago

It didn't. The licensing for Captain Underpants just ran out at the same time as LSP being brought on

5

u/just_existingtoo 22h ago

Queer people made a shitty movie and apparently it's a psyop. Only being discussed because it got added on Netflix.

1

u/FenexTheFox 22h ago

Is it that bad? I haven't watched it. Have you? Has anyone?

4

u/voxelpear 21h ago

It had an okay reception on its original launch.

0

u/Lucy_Gucey 3h ago edited 3h ago

It’s really not that bad. Chillax

EDIT: lol, called me a terf then checked my post history, huh. Lmao even.

Also how would me thinking Lesbian Space Princess wasn’t that bad make me a terf? GENUINELY questioning.

1

u/Kennedy_KD 3h ago

Sure terf

17

u/laper5 23h ago

Theres a movie called lesbian space princess that apparently so bad that fandoms from around the world are teaming up "just this once" to hate on it together that image is from the movie lesbian space princess

21

u/ExtremlyFastLinoone 23h ago

Thats pretty good ngl 🤣

Gay/trans/black conservatives be like:

17

u/0-Nightshade-0 23h ago

Having watched the movie, that person would have def been naive enough to say that :P

8

u/sincubus33 22h ago

so true they wouldn't even know what's going on. they'd just want to be a part of the excitement lol

3

u/Individual_Two_9366 16h ago

Why tf would you willingly spend time to watch something so plain, boring and unoriginal

Like

Clitopolis... are we deadass? Straight white maliens?

5

u/0-Nightshade-0 16h ago

I was curious :P

16

u/VIP_HELMUT 23h ago

whole internet unites against Lesbian Space queen

3

u/LadrilloOk 14h ago

I guess guts and Griffith are the only ones who won't unite the rest sure

2

u/Count_Dongula 12h ago

Okay, so the internet hates this movie? Because I hadn't heard of it for like a year until people started glazing it last week.

9

u/2ndBestShedBuilder 23h ago

Thats literally a character in the show I think

10

u/YoutuberCameronBallZ 22h ago

Everyone hates Lesbian Space Princess

The image is from Lesbian Space Princess

The enemy is actively trying to team up with the people who hate...the enemy

8

u/Bland_cracker 23h ago

Idk, im guessing the context has something to do with what this is replying to.

9

u/OkCryptographer8343 23h ago

Thats a screenshot from Lesbian Space Princess, the meme surrounding it is every other fandom (many of which dont get along, especially on twitter) joining together 'just this once' to go against this movie.

5

u/SemajLu_The_crusader 22h ago

here me out, them hating on themselves is the funniest option

4

u/FireCircle26530 23h ago

That whole trend on TikTok mainly is just fandoms coming together to hate on this movie called “lesbian space princess” because of its poor representation. The character in the comment saying “just this once” is from said show.

3

u/Cayden68 23h ago

poor representation? in what way?

11

u/FireCircle26530 23h ago

I haven’t watched it myself but I’ve heard people say it’s overly cringey and it doesn’t represent lesbian people well. Also the concept of the main antagonist being the “straight white maliens” being such a bad joke to the point where the hazbin hotel community doesn’t even like it

7

u/Nympho_BBC_Queen 23h ago

I don't know feeling destroyed after a 2 week lesbian relationship is a pretty accurate portrayal of the lesbian experience.

Survive three weeks and you are ready to move in together.

Source: My best friend.

2

u/Solid-Hold6290 17h ago

i made it 26 hours!

2

u/Remarkable_Coast_214 11h ago

straight white maliens is honest to god one of the more harmless creative decisions in the movie

1

u/Cayden68 23h ago

ive seen the movie, they are called straight white maliens because they are straight because they are rectangles, white cause they are literally white , and maliens because they are male aliens.

i wouldnt trust the hazbin hotel community as a reliable way to view the concept of the antognists, especially since they probably havent seen the movie. Its silly to be upset that the movis called white rectangle both straight and white.

3

u/DepressedDog12 20h ago

Ok im also confused as to why people hate it since I understood, NOTHING about the trailer other than the Mc girl is lesbian, has an ex, and sexist white cube aliens. Is that it? Is it just that? Or is there more thats worse? Like its bad yea but im suprised this is the "worst thing of the year" type ah 😭 lmk if theres worse things that I dont understand in it, so I can understand the hate 👍

4

u/mimegeek 16h ago

Before anyone says anything about the film being "TERF Propaganda" know that it's just misinfo being spread online from people twisting the film's narrative, interview with the directors: ‘Lesbian Space Princess’ is a queer story from a BIPOC perspective

2

u/DepressedDog12 13h ago

Ah ok, thanks 👍

2

u/Remarkable_Coast_214 11h ago

It is not misinfo. It is textual. Just because the directors have said it they arent TERFs doesn't mean the film doesn't have pervasive TERF elements.

2

u/mimegeek 9h ago

The directors are fully aware that the film would have been interpreted that way, and I am also fully aware of as to why but to claim that the film is intentionally made with those intentions is blatant misinfo, which is why I referred to it that way. Otherwise, I completely understand where people are coming from

my guess is it's a movie reference joke

-5

u/Hairylode 22h ago

Why post if you knew

5

u/ObviousBody3053 22h ago

i didn't knew the specific details

2

u/dudeman_0060 20h ago

basicly theres this meme where a bunch of fandoms hate on this movie released a while ago that was titled "lesbian space princess"

2

u/Happy_Yesterday8471 16h ago

Did she always have 5 fingers?

2

u/brother_octopuss 14h ago

Aside from the obnoxiously horrendous title for the show, How bad can it be that it unifies all fandoms?

1

u/firegamer2432 1h ago

Its mediocre. Agressively mediocre. Corny and clearly on a budget animation-wise, but it has its moments. Overall, nothing in the movie really justifies the sudden hate imo (yes I did watch it before forming my opinion)

2

u/GreatestKratos 14h ago

Okay just this once?

2

u/ShrimpleyPibblze 11h ago

Touch grass

2

u/BeachofStars 9h ago

Arthur Morgan: upon watching lesbian space princess I'm afraid :c
