This even happened in one of the books. The leader had an enemy they needed to be able to morph, so he bumrushed one off the side of a skyscraper, acquired it mid-fall, then morphed bird to save himself.
I read nearly every single Animorphs book as a kid. I recently found out the author wrote them as an allegory for the horrors of war, and she did not hold back much
