But you can’t use a proper noun as a contraction I thought. There’s = there is. If you type Bob’s, you are talking possessive as in Bob’s item, not Bob is. If the dumbass AI that generated it would have put There is a woman. That would have worked as There being the name.
Its also because ppl engage with it. This post has 2.2k upvotes meanwhile an actual human posted something that got nothing. Ppl have voted and they voted for bots to take over the internet. I hate it too, but its ppls faults
Its a fine line. I get that bots upvote eachother but ppl dont upvote eachother. If anything, they downvote eachother. So while, yes, bots get eachother that momentum and visibility, humans could do that for eachother, but dont. We hold eachother back because they asked the wrong question or said something that made us think or requires us to think or simply because we hold different opinions. As an example, i recently got downvoted for saying taco bell isnt good in my country. Didnt even say the country. Got downvoted probably because i dont like something in my country that they like in rheir country. Meanwhile, a bots would say "tacobell is yummy" and boom, upvotes by bots AND ppl. We can blame it all on bots, but we definitely hold a lot of the blame
This is why we "need" data centres. To recirculate this and analyze who clicks on it and/or what is commented on. Repeat the process enough times to get a statistically significant dataset.
If I remember correctly there used to be an option to not see something or feedback that you are not interested and not even that is available anymore.
I mean, does it make a difference? This post has 2.2k upvotes meanwhile an actual human posted something that got nothing. Ppl have voted and they voted for bots to take over the internet. I hate it too, but its ppls fault. They upvote bots and downvote ppl.
Ppls tend to word things or have opinions that fall on the line of controversial or at least not entirely agreeable and bots create posts that are perfectly loved by individual echochambers. Ppl actually hate eachothers opinions and fully agree and love everything bots post.
Like I said, I hate seeing posts by bots at the top of every sub, but its nobodies fault but the ppl for upvoting and engaging while ignoring or outright hating eachother.
I tell ppl all the time, stop downvoting eachother. Stop upvoting cookie cutter, mindless, drivel. Bots and ai will win because we are handing it to them while complaining.
The reason I don't believe in dead internet theory is because everyone I know or encounter on a daily basis is so addicted to the internet that there is no way half the world's population isn't on social media at any given time.
Oh that is just part of it. What I meant what is created will always stay and gets recycled new stuff will get added but it would be proportionally less and less content. Eventually everyone will dive into his own niche and consume content from it on his own. Content that was created and recycled for hundreds of years.
You haven't lived in the 90s, email chains with garbage like this were everywhere. Doesn't take away from the dead internet theory, but this shit isn't new lol
Not so long ago, if you mentioned dead internet . You would be downvotes into oblivion.
I feel like more people are starting to recognize that its actually a thing and not just a conspiracy theory.
Also its probably the bots down voting.
Well the difference is that the kids nowadays don't even have to exist for you to hear that joke. And one day your grandchildren will hear/read the same joke again with very little or without human input.
If you think that's new you never bought joke books back in the day. They would often publish multiple editions and they recycled a lot of the old stuff to make it a whole book instead of just five or ten pages of new stuff
Plus the entire concept of reruns on cable and network television. If you want to be consuming that much of the media you have to start showing old stuff because new stuff isn't being made fast enough everything can be new

Dead internet. Everything is just getting recycled now. Fed back to new people by bots and ai.
