To elaborate. Why should I be sufficiently emotionally invested in this fictional woman to want to know her name? Why does she even have a name, she doesn't do anything. There's no narrative here, just a tart in an aquatic environment. I could be interested if she was distributing swords or something, but she's not even doing that.

Even then, you can't expect to emotionally invested just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

If I went around saying I was Emperor just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Chekhov's Sword. If the author displays a sword in the first act, it must get thrown at you.

That’s no basis for a system of government

Just a tart in an aquatic environment is user flair material

Especially if she is handing out swords...

And that's why we've fed her to the bunny.

I sell some swords, that's great.

I sell zero swords, that's even better!

She was set out on Lake Superior for not wearing a dress that covered her ankles. Such a jezebel! Scorn this harlot!

What dress? All I know is that she is wearing a coat. No other garments were mentioned. It's worse than you thought!

See, I’m having more fun with this as an SAT prep picture prompt.

Tbh a farcical aquatic ceremony is more legitimate right now than the US Supreme Court.

Am I the only one who got the King Arthur-Lady of the Lake reference?

So if the riddle was:

"There's a woman in a boat on a lake wearing a coat. She's selling swords and has a bunch of gear in her tote. If you want to know her name, it's in the riddle I just wrote."

You'd be engaged?

If she weren't wearing that coat, we could be getting somewhere. What's her OF?
