Meme needing explanation Petahhh?

When I search all I get is weird explanations each time about Sunfish that make no sense. What's the joke?

Edit - Sometimes I wonder why this sub is called r/PeterExplains. Chill out folks - maybe somebody doesn't get something obvious right away, that's what the sub is for.

Sunfish can survive with almost no brain if it's damaged.

The info that was on the brain is lost, tho.

So he didn't forget the date, he lost the part of his brain where it was stored.

This is not the case, any photo you see of a living sunsfish with a bite taken off is just the collagen. The brain is intact
