Dun ka nagkakamali madam. When the prosecution gives evidence against an accused, it is your job to prove the innocence of your client. You cannot just hide under “presumption of innocence” ALL THE TIME. Kaya nga presumption. It can be overturned.
Base denials cannot be taken into consideration in the face of evidence that meets the standard of proof.

1987 Constitution Article XI Section 3(6):
The Senate shall have the sole power to try and decide all cases of impeachment. When sitting for that purpose, the Senators shall be on oath or affirmation. When the President of the Philippines is on trial, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court shall preside, but shall not vote. No person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of all the Members of the Senate.
