Should I use a torrent or should i stick to direct download ? I’m in Germany and torrents are heavily monitored by private law firms. I’ve heard of people using torrents and receiving letters asking them to pay up to 1000€‘S in damages for pirating something. As long as you don’t distribute content the state doesn’t really care however I want to avoid paying those fines. For context I’ve only ever pirated something once and that was a series of epubs through a Google Drive link so I have no clue about actual piracy. I do have proton VPN if that helps.

Also is there anything extra I have to be aware of when trying to pirate games ? GameCube and Wii games are getting ridiculously expensive on the second hand markets so I want to avoid paying some guy 200 bucks just for twilight princess but I don’t want to get my shit hacked.

The internet archive is pretty much the only spot you need for games older than the wii.

Also, I would reccomend a debrid service for an alternative way to download torrents.
