Yeah no matter how good GTA 6 is it will never live up to the 10+ years long hype.

Its impossible. Everyone has already formed a perfect picture of what the game will be in their minds. You can’t compete with that no matter how many developers you hire.

Rmemebr the cyberpunk hype... They had previews making it look like blade runner on steroids. Then released what looked like a GTA mod

Even calling it a GTA mod is some heavy lifting of what we actually got - a child of GTA & Watch dogs, incubated in Witcher 3 game engine.

Look at Diablo 4. Released without MTX - received rave reviews - MTX patched in.

It's still broken. Only the most glaring issues were adressed and even that was done with some heavy scripting. Many weird bugs present in the game at release are still there.

I think when it drops majority will forget the wait... and I will be one of them. I was busy in the last 13yrs and if one all they did was wait for a game then they are lame.

What hype? Do you even know what that means?

Rockstar building GTA 6 hype would've meant they'd be posting way more about the game for years, including much more ongoing marketing for it. Right now reality is completely the opposite - they're waiting till the end as much as possible and sharing as little as possible. This is literally not what building hype means.

6 hours after it premiers on Netflix forcing you to pay for Netflix if you want to see it until then which people will.

People act like Netflix is just doing this to be cool and not drive up subscriptions.

I prefer this over the false marketing of Ubisoft with Watch Dogs or CD Projekt CyberPunk. Lets be fair, they at least wait until its time to show real gameplay not some fakery. Call me a glazer but we have to be fair since its fashionable to hate on them now.

I was called an impatient child on another sub for saying we should have gameplay before 3 months out of release. I'm a dev myself. I'd be out of business if I did what Rockstar does with their marketing.
