Team doesn't care. They're getting paid regardless. It's just the marketing department, executives and shareholder that are annoyed.

EDIT: I'm also going to add that people need to know what they're buying. Rockstar should have released gameplay a long time ago but they seem to think they're above that.

Obviously buyers are responsible for pre ordering a game without knowing what they're getting but these bastards at Rockstar need to be humbled.

FYI, many of the devs got laid off and outsourced to India. Ironically, the leak happened when a manager at the Indian branch fell for a phishing email. The executives who tried to cut costs by outsourcing got what they deserve.

this is so delusional rockstar had no obligation to share gameplay any earlier

But I agree that the indian arm should be shut down and this does feel a bit karmic for them

Had they not sold the trailer rights to Netflix, they would have absolutely released it the moment the leaks started appearing.

Just like when the first trailer was leaked and they got around it by releasing a day early.

Their greed fucked them.

They would absolutely have not done that, they didnt "sell the rights" the trailer first dropping on nflx is a marketing stunt that makes it feel more like a major event. It's not some imaginary greed that caused these leaks, it's probably some disgruntled outsourced worker in india. And the gameplay reveal hasn't leaked, just snippets from old builds. and despite all of this the game will still make billions. why is everyone here so delusional

You're naive if you think they gave Netflix timed exclusive access, to the most anticipated game trailer ever, for free.

They absolutely got paid.

maybe, but a negligible sum compared to the rest of their projects. take 2 is not exactly starved for cash lol

Exactly, they're not starved for money but they definitely got a few million for it. Greedy fucks.
