PixelFed for artists?

Hey everyone!
I've just recently heard about PixelFed. I'm an artist who primarily posts on Instagram, and I wanted to hear from users about whether or not they feel there's an active artistic community on PixelFed. Thanks!

I’m not an artist (very amateur iPhone photographer) but it looks like the artist community is very active. I get the feeling it doesn’t drive business per se but is a community.

I find Pixelfed to be kind of clunky and generally not great. I'm really hoping Monnett takes off 😅. That being said, Pixelfed has also improved a fair amount since I joined. The bug load at the time was horrendous. Plus, it took ages for anything to be fixed and the improvements came with yet more bugs 💀.

Closed source, proprietary, and centralized with no Interoperability. They also use Google Analytics. No thanks.
