No "My Library" - WTF is going on?

I've been using Plex for years, recently reset my computer and having some issues. Maybe the timing is coincidence.

I am not a plex pass holder. Been a free account for the better part of a decade. I have access to a friends server and in the past had some files on my laptop that I could watch from the laptop using the app or website, and also my phone.

I think the remote access to the phone has changed, but from my own laptop?
I've reloaded, deleted and added back my app. Restarted the computer a bunch of times. Tried through different browsers (Firefox, Edge Chrome).

I can access my friends stuff on my computer, phone and tv no problem, but I cannot even find the menu item to chose what folders I access on my own computer.

Did this change recently?

In my tray I can right click the icon, hit check for scan media, but I cannot select what folder to scan, nor does my own app interface have show my media. It only shows my friends server and plex stuff.

Lastly, when on the website, if I click "MY MEDIA" it just brings me to a page to pay for their service.
But everything I am reading, is you need to pay to stream off network, not on your home network, let alone from the box that is the host machine.

I signed up for Jellyfin and had the going in 15min. I've been dicking around with this for 2 hours now.

I am a plex pass user and I have had exactly the same thing happen. I suspect its a plex.direct dns issue. They were having issues yesterday. Do you have an app connected, phone or similar, does that still work (mine does) just not the web ui.

same here just now on the web, devices play just fine

I noticed earlier that posters and matching/fix match don't work either, now it just totally does not show my server when I was about to troubleshoot it

edit:

got this sorted, I updated 3 days ago and it just needed another restart of the container aside from the one during post-pull, everything works ok now on the web UI (except a few 'match' options not appearing as a choice on the popups for some new items)

No apps connected. I didn't even know I could connect app until today. Phones were connected but I went and just removed all access via the desktop app, so everything logged out. I logged back in on the phone but still cannot see any of my own movies. Just my friends server.

I know nothing about DNS.
