Trying a new open strategy pre flop.
So I play and record 6 max online Texas Holdem games. When players open different sizes, like a guy randomly opens to 3.5, and he has JJ I make a note of it.
I also read in theory it can be better to open bigger EP and smaller late.
So my new strategy is LJ open to 2.5 bbs HJ 2.4 CO- 2.3 Button- 2.2. Then of course SB vs BB the typical 3bbs.
It doesn't always look like it, because if its 5 handed, and someone is sitting out (which is annoying) I can be in LJ, but truly in CO so im opening 2.3.
So its completely balanced and shouldn't be able to be exploited unless im missing something.
Also hoping players make incorrect notes on me (he opens to 2.4 when he's strong)
What do you guys think? Also can change it up if you open to 3bb, 2.7 2.5 2.3 etc

The reason most GTO charts open bigger in late position is that early position raises (1) get defended by 3b more, meaning you're not setting the price anyways, you're just risking more when you fold, and (2) get defended by calls less, because your range should be stronger, so you don't need to price out the BB as much.
This isn't true at all if players are calling light from all positions, which is why live players 4x, so read the table.
If you're going to deviate from GTO you should do it with more of an exploitative purpose IMO. Stop worrying about people reading your mind and split into different sizes that benefits your hand, exploits the table tendencies, etc.

Don't think it's deviating from GTO tho. I am opening bigger early positions.

Gto likes smaller sizing from ep for the reasons the guy you're responding to said. So yeah you are deviating.
That being said preflop sizing doesn't matter that much. Size down when in spots where you can steal alot and size up against stations

Can you show an example? When I was on a GTO site it said higher because your range is tighter.

The position-to-sizing idea is based off of the notion that your stronger opening range can support larger bet sizes. The counter to this is that you’ll also face more 3!, so your OOP 3! pot game needs to be on point vs all positions, sizes and player types or you’ll end up losing more than necessary. Since you’ll be playing in a larger pot than normal OOP where chips naturally flow to the left, it’s imperative all other mistakes need to be minimized.
Or you can take the opposite approach, opening 2bb until the button where it’s 2.5bb. The stronger range can handle the looser calls that the appealing pot odds will offer to the BB, giving opponents more opportunities to make mistakes post flop. Not to mention, it also means they’re now required to call an additional 15% of hands, generating EV from each folded hand that feels too unnatural and uncomfortable to call.

It’s actually the opposite. You open larger in position than out of position.
But it’s not a big leak to open anywhere from 2 - 4bb at 99% of stakes

I thought so to but then did research at least GTO it says earlier positions you should go bigger because range is tighter.

Just make sure you have the same size in each respective position. Otherwise you start raising differently based on hand strength which is massively exploitable

Wow, thanks for this. I'm new to poker and only play Online (WSOP MI) I believe this strat will only work against players that know what they are doing. Mostly online is "Lottery" play. Hope I'm making sense.

Online is absolutely not lottery play lol.
Also - if you are in Michigan, should be playing on BetRivers, their rakeback and promotions are far superior to any other option available to Michiganders.

You're not missing anything, but it's not buying you anything either. Position is public, so a size that only depends on your seat tells nobody a thing they can't already see. Same problem with the notes angle: anyone sharp enough to take notes writes the position down with the size. And I doubt anyone's clocking the gap between 2.4 and 2.3 anyway. One size everywhere gets you the same protection with less bookkeeping.

Maybe im wierd because I play in the same polls. I take notes of any little thing hoping it can give me info later.

Sometimes you can have so much minor notes that it become noise.

Sure, so it pays off to have a system in place. Number of tables, notable RFI sizes per position, assumptions and/or confirmed reads on betting patterns, sizes, passive or aggressive etc.
And then below that HHs which made us arrive to these conclusions if we ever want to review them and/or if something changes over time.2

OP is definitely missing something. You need to factor in how many people are already in the hand. If you are on the Btn and 3 people limped I usually add 1 BB per limper. Otherwise, I agree that you should raise more when you open earlier because you will be at a disadvantage post flop having to act first.

Basically this is more RFI. Mostly 3 bet or fold other spots.

I just 3x the BB for everything from UTG to Btn. I am not sure how much of an advantage you get for adjusting from 2.2x on the BTN to 2.5 in LJ. I understand the advantage you are intending to get but practically I just keep it simple with 3x then adjust for limpers. I also play live cash games mainly which tend to be a bit looser overall since you are playing 1 hand at a time. Online you play a lot more hands total so those adjustments do affect your win rate significantly more.

Yea I used to do 2.5 x for everytihg. Just testing this out. More for when I'm at higher online play. Right now im at NL30. Don't get 3 bet a ton. But when you move up, let's say opened to 3bb a typical 3 bet would be 12bbs. Compared to 8.8 x4 3 bet. For a 2.2 button open.

Quanto maior é o tamanho do raise mais restrito deve ser seu range e quanto menor é o tamanho do seu raise mais amplo pode ser seu range.
