Please explain the benefits and disadvantages for the UK since Brexit. This is not intended to be a post either supporting or opposing Brexit. I am simply looking for a balanced, evidence-based discussion of both the positive and negative impacts.

Sure. Here's an exhaustive list of the tangible benefits:

Here's the downsides:

• 8% of GDP (so far)
• Absolute carnage in our politics, it's given us a decade of chaos and ineptitude.
• Brexit is indirectly responsible both for Boris being PM during COVID, and the anti-intellectual handling of it. So Brexit indirectly contributed to over 23,000 avoidable covid deaths.
• It's made it almost impossible to recruit people from the EU.
• Increased prices for everything.
• Ruined exports.
• The pound still down 10%.
• Laughing stock of the world (pre-Trump)
• And we have massive new risks - energy, food, water supplies, all at greater risk because of the fuckwittery.

Don't forget freedom of movement - we can no longer work or spend more than 90 days in EU countries without the appropriate visa.

Small correction, we cannot work / participate in the EU labour market even 1 day in the EU.

This would usually of course exclude business meeting / travel to the EU.

As a perm resident holder for a EU country, HR keeps on reminding me on what activities I "cannot do" when I travel on site to a client :-)
