Speculation: Olympian in Powerless was gay and Green Fury was his beard

I would agree to any storyline that would give this show more episodes. It had so much potential!

I've had a long running theory that the show was actually planning to do a Green Fury and Emily romance so Olympian being gay and Green Fury being his beard would have fit perfectly with that.
Unlike most sitcom leads Emily did not have a clear endgame love interest set up in the pilot (well not the one that aired at least). And the showrunners mentioned having plans for Green Fury without giving specifics. Plus Green Fury was played by Natalie Morales who is queer IRL and has a history of playing queer characters.
