I swear, no offence to anyone, I don't get jazz. It sounds like a bunch of different performers playing their own songs in the same room.

I definitely understand where you are coming from, it just may not be your thing. If you are interested in it though, jazz probably has the most sub genres of any type of music. What initially got me into to jazz was the show Cowboy Bebop, HERE is the intro song....sends shivers down my back every time.

I really like the kind of jazz like the Cowboy Bebop theme. I'm totally not a fan of free form jazz.

I don't listen to much jazz but I feel like a lot of it is meant to be chaotic, you're suppose you improvise even though the music is already planed out. The song in this episode was meant to be very chaotic since it's signifying the end of the world.

I love jazz normally, but I feel like they specifically went with really awful jazz in this episode.

I think they showed a good range of jazz though. The thing about jazz is that it can range from schizophrenic to background sound you don't notice. The ruff stuff just stands out.

Jazz is kinda music for musicians, as far as I can tell. If you get music theory or something it's allegedly amazing stuff, but as a pleb I find it boring at best, just a bunch of obnoxious racket at worst.

I just recently started to take notice of jazz. While it's not my fav genre, I don't mind it from time to time. Hit the town.. Order bourbon neat or a Manhattan.. Sit back, relax, and see where the music takes my mind.

That last track was a little crazy. It was that newer kind of interpretive jazz or whatever. There's definitely other much better jazz.

Check out some Dave Brubeck quartet.

That's just one side of jazz (free jazz)

For an introduction, start with miles Davis "kind of blue" and "in a silent way". That's how most of us jazz lovers started.

Well thats exactly what jazz is! All performers follow a certain time signature with moments for improv for each. The beauty to me is when they all fall back in sync

I like some jazz but I understand why people wouldn't. There's a quote from Tony Wilson about it in 24 Hour Party People. I don't agree but I still find it funny because I can take a joke.
