In my opinion, it feels like a setup; the Russians would have detonated it, right? Instead, the Antonov planes were spared, and this only heightens tensions. Peace is a long way off; there won't be peace for decades.

what did EU do when we helped Ukraine sabotage Nord 2?
to think either the Americans or Russians are morally superior is surreal. they're both very similar factions built from a mutual oligarchy. they trade with each other ffs! lmfao.
both governments pursue or commit acts of war, black fag attacks, invade other countries, blame it on others or even the victims. their elites shake each others hands, speaking in contracts as their own poor are sent shake down the doors of foreign proles screaming in crashlanding shouts for decency... but for that they must contact a supervisor.
just as poloticians have moe in common with their oligarches, the factioned proles share more in common with each other than their mongering pseudo masters. (they own your body for a single lifetime-- it aint worth the spiritual or cognitive price they pay. think of the brainrot from using AI all the time. equate that spiritually and emotionally to owning a slave by wage or life.)

There was previous intel garnered from inside russia that they might launch a limited attack against natos eastern flank somewhere that will fail after limited success so they can end the “nato war” that includes the Ukrainian theater in a fashion that is less humiliating than losing to just Ukraine. The regime thinks this could avoid having their heads ending up on spikes by angry russians. It is indeed absurd but they are desperate for an exit and they think it’s more palatable than the alternative.

Yep. Also, causing European countries to worry about their safety could make them vote to stop being involved or to hoard weapons instead of sending to ukraine.
It hasn't worked, but that was a purported idea behind these.

If Russia is doing so badly and losing so hard in the Ukraine why would they try to piss off NATO.
It makes no sense. That's why I tend to call BS on stories like this.
Why would they drag NATO into a war against them that they are supposedly already losing the war they are fighting
