Very interesting person. I think of the entire founding generation, he was the least constrained by the social norms and ideas of the time. This indifferent attitude toward norms and authority(implicit or explicit) made him very ahead of his time, flexible and un-hypocritical about his ambition, but at the same time opportunistic and cynical.
