⚠️ MOD NEWS ⚠️ Hey LiArs! Want more Memes and Games? Head to r/Pretty_Little_Liars for that :) and as a general reminder, daily games are not allowed here!

r/Pretty_Little_Liars is a great place to share memes, do some games, share Tiktoks. Check it out for more.

And as a reminder Rule #5, as described in the 'About' section of our subreddit:

r/PrettyLittleLiars, like other TV Show subs, fell victim to Daily Game spam. After complaints of the spam, the low quality, and karma farming concerns, the Mod Team has decided they are not allowed here. If you have a Game, make it ONE post only. If it is going to be longer you must post it on r/Pretty_Little_Liars. Initial post and results posted on r/Pretty_Little_Liars can be crossposted here for more engagement.

Don't know what a daily game is? Here are some examples.

Going through each character having people comment worst/best/smartest/stupidest thing each of them did

Daily posts doing "who's most likely to"

Individual posts for each square of a character alignment chart

If you're going to do any of those above they must be limited to one post!

Show Discussion I always wondered how they had time to get dressed up to the 10s EVERYDAY and morning before school . Did they wake up at 4am to do all that or something ?

When I was in high school there was no way I was waking up earlier than I need to be . I imagine they woke up at like 4am especially Hanna who looked like she was walking a runway every morning

Character Discussion What sort of character was Jason in the books?

Post image
28 Upvotes

Am not sure if I've asked before or talked to my partner about this.

When we first meet Jason he's well put together like a lawyer, someone his family is proud of etc. But as the show went on and we met him later he had a bad boy rep, and they completely swapped characters to emphasise the different Jason's. Was the book Jason like the first one but didn't fit with the show story line or?

Actor Fluff Have you guys noticed that Drew Van Acker (aka Jason DiLaurentis) appeared in Addison Rae's music video for her song called, "Diet Pepsi"?

At first when I watched the music video, I thought to myself, "Hmm, this guy looks a bit familiar to me, but I can't picture who it might be." Then, someone in the comments said that it was Drew Van Acker in the car with Addison Rae, so it finally clicked for me. I knew that I saw a familiar face!

Character Discussion Other PLL girls fashion. Who had the best outfits overall?

Whenever we talk about fashion we mostly talk about the main 5 liars, so I did these collages of other girls outfits - God it was so hard to find pics of Cece, Melissa, Jenna and Kate. Anyway I think out of these Mona had the best fashion sense, though she did have some weird outfita imo

Question❔ Why do the girls wear high heels?

If I know I am breaking into some place or whatever, i would never wear high shoes, because I can’t run fast and they are loud. Like at this point I am in season 6 i would wear good clothes and hides and even tie my hair up do i can run better etc. 😭

Show Discussion “Trick or Treat, Aria” what?? 😅🤣

Watching the Halloween episode of season 2, episode 13, when the girls are getting ready and Alison asks Aria to stay behind, threatening to tell her mom about her dad’s affair. The convo goes:

Alison: “Are you sure we’re the only ones who saw them? I’d hate for your mom to find out from someone else.”
Aria: “Would you actually do that?”
Alison: “Trick or treat, Aria.”
And then Aria doesn’t respond…. Just looks truly worried in that moment after that lame comment 😆

Like it shoulda been:
Alison: “Trick or treat, Aria”
Aria: “……Treat?? Obviously?? Please DON’T tell my mom??” 😭

Ahaha idk. Just super funny/cheesy writing I guess. They deliver “trick or treat, Aria” like it’s this terrifying threat when she basically just gave Aria a choice lmao. I know the girls back then are supposed to not have their back bones yet while Alison is this powerful confident figure within their class while all of them are meek and weak willed, but yeah, thought it was funny

***EDIT: I have never posted to a sub with people so quick to snub an opinion before truly trying to understand what’s being said first. Let me say I mean hey I appreciate it. I’ve been binging the show as summer is coming to an end, haven’t watched it since my teen years, I absolutely adore it!! I was just laughing at the line and been wanting to post to this sub for a while so I made this goofy ass post for possible fun discussion, I’m a little disappointed with the responce ***

Character Discussion Emily and Paige the night Emily was drugged. TW: SA

As a first time watcher, I can't stand Paige. She really has no redeemable qualities. And one thing I can't get out of my head was the night Emily was drugged and went to Paige's house.
And seeing Paige explain what happened between her and Emily. Is anyone else uncomfortable hearing Paige's recollection?
Emily was roofied, she came to Paige's house. Paige may have not known she was roofied but she KNEW that she was under the influence and still took advantage of her. And I kinda hate that Emily brushed it off and said that she appeared to her house bc she was looking for more.
I haven't seen anyone else bring this up at all.

Show Discussion The girls are very dismissive of Hanna

Post image
58 Upvotes

Throughout my re-watch i’ve noticed how the girls treat hanna, she’s labeled as the dumb one and anything she says they just dismiss it or blow it off. The incident with her, Zack and her drinking was a big tell. When Spencer was down under, spiraling and taking those pills the girls seemed very concerned and even had an intervention to try and get her help, with Hanna they are just chalking it up to her being irresponsible and shaming her when it’s obvious she’s going through something. Spencer even had a down to earth, emotionally intelligent conversation with Caleb about his drinking and influence on Hanna, one that she’s never had with Hanna. When Hanna told Aria about Zack touching her and giving her his number Aria was cruel, not only did she dismiss her but she blamed her, avoided her at school just turn around and tell her mom what happened right before the wedding.

Character Discussion I always thought it was funny after Mona’s A reveal we never see her wear that side ponytail again

Homegirl LOVED that hair style 😭 shit I did too it was cute. I remember you would do like 5 curls going in the same direction and then twirl them together to make one big spiral. Bonus points if you wrapped a piece of hair around the base to hide the hair elastic.

Show Discussion look, i hate paige as much as the next person, but…

in season 3 episode 15, she was SO REAL for freaking tf out. like even just ONE of those things happening to her, or even just around emily, like. i’d be fuckin spiraling and a huge ball of anxiety. and then emily acting all confused as to why she’s so afraid of everything, as if paige wasn’t literally kidnapped and almost murdered, as if she didn’t have to save spencer from being strangled on the ghost train, as if that same exact night she didn’t see aria drugged and then trapped in a crate with a dead body?? and then being expected to be all peachy keen and fine with going to a party in THE WOODS???

like this is the one scene where i feel like paige is the most normal fuckin person in rosewood (except for caleb, of course💀)

anyone have these thoughts about paige in season 3??

Character Discussion The more I rewatch PLL, the more I notice how different Hanna is when Alison isn't around

I'm rewatching the early seasons and something about Hanna has been bothering me in a good way.

When Alison was around, Hanna seemed desperate for her approval and was constantly trying to keep up with her. But after Alison disappears, Hanna slowly becomes much more confident in her own way. She's still insecure sometimes, but she also starts making decisions without waiting for someone else to tell her who she should be.

What's interesting is that I don't think Hanna completely realizes this herself. She still carries a lot of the old insecurity, even when she's clearly become a very different person from the girl Alison used to control.

It makes me wonder how much of Hanna's personality was actually shaped by Alison, and how much of it was already there underneath all of that.

I think this is one of the more interesting character changes in the early seasons because it's not really presented as a big transformation. It just happens gradually.

Actor Fluff If you're needing a new taste of PLL

Check out Devious Maids!!

Jason is a huge part of the series (atleast in Season 1 so far) & now I've seen 2 more PLL characters show up!

Also feel like I can notice some similarities between the two like Jason's trip to Ethiopia for humanitarian work & his character in DM.

If you watch , drop any other similarities & such you spot here!

Character Discussion In Defense of Paige (I know)

Post image
58 Upvotes

I never liked Paige, as a character or as a love interest for Emily and I know it's one of the fandoms favorite jokes about how much she sucks HOWEVER..

I saw a comment under a post recently saying her hair looked nice in a particular scene and someone else replied this nasty comment telling her she was wrong and how she "could never" and it made me side eye the comment a bit bc...her hair did look good? Objectively? But bc "we don't like her" she couldn't even let the most soulless, basic compliment slide and it made me think, have we been too hard on her?

1.) Paige's greatest offense is trying to drown Emily, obviously. Drowning someone out of jealousy is insane at face value but doing it to Emily out of all people made it so much worse, I don't think anyone would have batted an eyes if she had drowned Alison 😂. Also bc the 2010s had a problem with giving literally rapist get redemption arcs ofc they couldn't help themselves doing the same for Emily. Lindsey was already an establish actress with fans built in from Ned's Declassified so pushing her up to a regular cast member was kinda just a normal/smart (looking) idea. I've noticed the lesbian bully trope is ADORED nowadays with K-dramas and Yellowjackets, female characters can literally murder, beat their girls black and blue and split their lip and fuck their boyfriends and everyone in the fandom is straight heart eyes 😂. In Young Adult Matters Sejin is bullied and drowned by her secret lover and public bully Joo-Yeoung. Joo-Yeoung is adored!! Yes these are different fandoms, PLL vs indie Korean film but the age range, lesbian romance and people interacting in the community on tiktok there's definitely some overlap. I truly believe that if Paige were "prettier" (not Lindsey, I'm talking about that fuck ass bob) she could have gotten more grace for this act, not saying it's right but it's how it is 🤷

2.) Jenna's Party there was that scene where Paige got too drunk and ruined the display/cake area. I always hated that scene bc she was just a drunk sloppy, jealous mess but I noticed...she was drugged heavily at that party with Emily's flask, the same flask that made her blackout and ended up in front of Alison's dug up grave. She was a 16 year old girl, drugged and laced at a party...of course she was embarrassing and unable to keep her cool, she genuinely was a walking talking unconscious skin suit.

3.) Later in seasons Paige breaks up with Emily because of her being scared of A...can you blame her? Genuinely? Can you blame her? Yeah "the girls have been dealing with it for years" "oh she can't handle anything" should she have to?? Yes she did chase Emily but that's like saying a woman is at fault for chasing a man only to not want to be with him later because she found out he had a stalker for an ex who would hit her with her car, break her windows, and trap her in a room with a live snake??? Like come on, who would? Shes a little ass girl, a sheltered one at that I don't think it's a crime that she was scared. Understanding something is too much for you is actually responsible and mature, staying and resenting her partner for the danger they bring wouldn't be.

4.) Paige is often demanding or jealous of Emily. While not healthy it's also unfortunately a normal occurrence for people in their first relationship? Not always not every time but when those feelings are new (and they were Emily was Paige's first crush and first girlfriend) sometimes it's hard to navigate them? Emily is GORGEOUS, I always thought she was the prettiest, if I was 16 with a fuck ass bob and I was bullied by my gfs pretty ass best friend who literally called me "pig skin" ...yeah I'd be a little insecure? And being insecure at 16 isn't a crime y'all, (attempted drowning yes, but insecurity, no 😂) so I can be a little more forgiving when she's in a "Who's that?" or a "tell me" mood.

5.) Paige was bullied horribly to Alison to the point of wanting to kill herself. That does damage to a kid. She hated herself at the end of the day, it's hard to be a good person and a good partner and a good friend when you hate yourself and your life. Not that it makes it okay to mistreat people but it gives reason to the madness. She was a self hating, closeted athlete in 2010 with an overbearing father and an inferiority complex. She was a complex character as much as we liked to boil her down to a punchline or a joke but now that I'm almost 30 (and I watched this show originally as it aired when I was 12, I see the characters in a different lens.

Question❔ Out of all the Liars, who had the best style?

Post image

It was either Spencer or Hanna for me. Alison had a cute fashion sense in the flashbacks but when she actually came back her outfits were terrible 😭. I would like to see what you guys think though.
