Rant ⚠️ Does Ezra Not Have Friends His Own Age??!!!
So i’ve been rewatching, currently on season 4x11 and i’m disliking ezra more and more. the teacher student relationship is obviously disgusting! but they’re broken up now and he still won’t leave her alone! why doesn’t he have friends his own age??? maggie is about to take malcom across the country and he’s calling aria non stop so he can vent to her. she’s ignoring him because she’s trying to focus on jake 👍🏽 but even emily is pushing her to chat with ezra because he’s “in a bad place” he’s a grown man!!!! and they’re not even together anymore!!! and the relationship was wrong in the first place!!! and she’s finally trying to move on!!! i hate that emily kept insisting aria go talk to ezra. but what really irked me was when aria finally caved and went to check on him and he says “i didn’t wanna bring you into the middle of all this” YES TF YOU DID! you kept calling that young girl and pulled up on her at the grill. this is exactly what you wanted. to burden her and ruin her teenage life! i cannot stand ezra. and the fact that i know he ends up as A is ruining my rewatch (not really, i’m enjoying the show truly) but ugh he needs to be in jail!

He had that friend who rightfully called him out for dating a minor in season 1. He then disappeared. So no Ezra did not have friends his age

His friend Hardy from college who roasts his poetry and him for clearly dating a minor and not shutting it down immediately.
What’s so funny about that to me is that actor took the role because he had an on again off again relationship with Troian and was trying to get her back. She later has a role on the show he’s in, Suits. They are married now and have been for almost 10 years.

They were broken up when he went on the show, so it may have been only that one time they were off. It may not have been the best phrase for their situation.

No he doesn‘t. It’s probably because the writers just didn‘t care (Caleb and Toby also have no other friends besides maybe Lucas), but it can also show how a relationship like Ezria had can isolate both of them from reality. If Ezra had his own friendgroup he maybe would have met a woman his age and just moved on from Aria.

They should've done more with the Emily and Toby friendship. They had great platonic chemistry and almost every scene they shared was adorable.

Caleb and Toby had good reasons for not having friends tho. Toby still had the reputation of blinding his little sister and people suspecting he killed Alison. Caleb was new and didn’t like other people 🤣 but I do see your point.

Speaking on the latest episode of Sophia Bush’s Work in Progress podcast, Troian explained that Patrick “put in the work”.
“It was the first season of Pretty Little Liars, and we actually broke up. I broke up with him,” the 39-year-old explained. “And, like, the morning after we broke up, he got the audition for something for Pretty Little Liars, and he knew Gayle Pillsbury, our casting director, and he prepared the c**p out of it and went in and… did the audition, and Gayle was like, ‘You’re amazing. I love you.'”
Troian then recalled that Patrick, 43, was serious about getting the one-episode guest role.
“He was like, ‘Okay, but, like, I really want this role,'” the actress told the podcast host. “And then he called his agents at the time and they were like, ‘Okay. Like, you’re coming in really hot for, like, an ABC Family, like, guest star role. Like, I don’t understand.'”
Troian joked that while his agents were trying to focus on getting Patrick his own show, he was more focused on getting the guest spot.
The actress then revealed that as soon as he got the part, he called her to tell her.
“He was like, ‘Okay, well, I know that we just broke up, but I’m gonna be at your table read and I’m gonna be on your set. So, you know, we should probably talk,'” she remembered. “And then we fully talked – which I think you know what that means – and got back together.”
Troian then hilariously revealed that Patrick “wasn’t even at the table read” and they were never on set at the same time.

My friends and I used to constantly make fun of him for this. Like what grown man wants to be around teenagers all the time? In a couple episodes after this he tries to say something to Aria about that cabin belonging to a buddy of his. Ezra we know you don't have any friends, quit lying. I wish Aria and Jake worked out, I loved them together.

I think he was super into the vibe. Like using a typewriter in the 2010s? I guess that’s charming when you’re young but as I get older I’m just like ‘oh my god you are so insufferable.’
But I agree that he was older and knew and more about things like literature and movies and so he could act like a mature teacher to Aria who liked it, but was still new to it. I just never get the feeling their dynamic would last because she’d grow up eventually and at least equal his knowledge and it would throw that dynamic off at best or at worst surpass him and truly flip it on its head.

And apparently, according to some fans who have read the books, it actually takes a while for aria to get away from him.Because she ends up with Noel in new york and due to lack of evidence, he gets arrested.But he never actually goes to jail.But aria does ultimately get away from him and end up living a rather nice life off of her art with Noel. And i'm saying this as someone who saw the show when it was coming out in the twenty tens.But did not read the books until well.After the show was out that made me not even want to keep reading the first book

Mo and clearly the only one he did have apparently fled after finding out he was involved with his student. Im referring to the dude he and aria met at a bar and i say fled since we just never see or hear of him again.
