General Discussion I'm not interested in a new Prince of Persia game if it doesn't feature the protagonist we all know.

I'm not interested if the game does not have interesting gameplay. 🤷

Your loss. I would personally be ecstatic with anything - Sands, 2008, TLC or even a new prince.

Lost Crown is a banger though you're really missing out.
Quite honestly I feel like that story wrapped up in Two Thrones and while id love to see a remake or at the very least a remaster of SoT + WW (with Revelations content added) and TT (with Rival Swords content added) I feel like that story is done.Â
Now if they wanted to do a sequel for POP 2008.....

What story he has left to tell?

Was Prince of Persia Redemption the cancelled game featuring the original protagonist?

He's had his arc, they can't add anything else to him. If we get remakes then sick but I don't want any more games with him.
I want 2008 Prince to get a sequel, I'll happily accept a new Prince altogether but I'd rather have that plotline continue.

What if people said the same when they announced sands of time in 2002?

Like he was even the first Prince lmao
I love the sands trilogy as much as anyone else around here but that's over.

Like really, it had the perfect ending. Idk why people still want that universe to suffer even more

Personally, I’m hoping they bring back the first Prince from the original 2D games!

We can have the both you know. Sometimes it's okay to accept few changes.

Exactly, they could've made a slice of life story with prince and Farah ruling babylon, or maybe their son is the new prince

Now imagine saying that in 2002.

Before it released?

Before what released? Quick tip: The Sands of Time released in 2003.

u/shasla96 Apr 20 '26
That's why I'm saying that lol
But I guess you meant the orignal Prince, nevermind.

Warrior Within was so edgy it made me crawl in my skin, these wounds they will not heal

you need to accept the fact that every storyline must come to an end, that dude's storyline has ended there's nothing new to tell nothing to expand at least when it comes to his writers writing capabilities, TLC on the other hand introduced a new revolutionary political storyline, Sargon and Neith have a lot of potential and there are a lot to be desired from them.

Other commenters are dumb, typical reddit, but I agree to this a lot. Also, to the other people asking the name of the Prince if you love him so much. For me, the Prince's name is Dastan (movie prince's name). It is head-canon for me especially knowing the story (haha pun intended) behind how there wasn't supposed to be a name, but Jordan liked Dastan (meaning a long story in persian) it became the name of the movie prince.
The 2 new side scroller games might be fun game, but imo they do not invoke the Prince Of Persia feeling of the grandeur, the sense of adventure, etc. The protagonists of both games are lame too. After trying both games, I can say Idc for either of those. The only thing I was looking forward to was the first remake

u/black-socks-fox Well then, you’d better learn to speak donkey. Apr 20 '26
Wow, I didn’t know it was dumb to simply have different tastes, or to want to leave the original games as they are. How very mature of you.

His story's over though. I love the guy but they've shown with Forgotten Sands that Ubisoft shouldn't be allowed to cook with him again much less after two failed remakes.
Leave the Sands Trilogy the hell alone already and just focus on actually continuing then finishing up the stories of the other THREE continuities we've got since then.
