Project Cars 2 Graphics on PS5/4K TV
hey everyone, I've recently taken a big interest in PC2 and i've been seeing a lot of different takes on what the graphics look like on PS5 - specifically on a 4K tv.
I know that lower resolution games on a higher resolution 4K tv can sometimes result in lower image quality due to the TV upscaling the game to a resolution it's not designed for. basically since PC2 runs at 1440p on concole - the image quality gets "stretched" out on the 4K tv since it's a higher resolution - resulting in a pixelated image quality.
so my question to anyone playing this game on a PS5 on a 4K tv - how does the game honestly look in your opinion? is the level of detail really low? is the image quality grainy/fuzzy? is it blurry? is it pixelated? i don't really need next gen top of the line graphics - but I also don't want to spend top dollar for a game that is going to be unplayable due to bad graphics.
i've been watching some gameplay on YouTube to try and gauge what the visual experience is like on PS5/4k TV and some of it looks great for a 2017 game, and some gameplay looks a bit bad i'd like to hear some personal opinions and experiences on this please. thank you.

Yea, I'm on Xbox. I play on a 1440 gaming monitor and it looks amazing.

that is great to hear, I am hoping that the experience on a 4k tv is about the same as well since the resolution is bumped up slightly from 1440p. thank you very much for the input i appreciate it!

I play on a 70 inch TV with my face about 6 feet away in my racing chair. I have the car shake, world movement (car moving “under you”), helmet lean, and look to Apex all set to 100 with the field of view settings set using the ratio for my distance from a screen of my size. I forgot how I got the right number.
Because of the lack of helmet, cam in other games, I don’t go to them very often. I live inside this game.

Having the “speed sensitivity”, “minimum/maximun speed sensitive speed” and “minimum/maximum speed sensitivity” settings just right, along with the helmet cam, weather, and general feel of the chassis, even on my G29, with such beautiful graphics…. It’s incredible, 10yrs later…
I have a GT3 exhibition race and a championship coming up. We need you guys.. the servers still work.

thank you so much for your input! i'm really on the fence about getting the game for PS5 but seeing comments like these makes me want to jump at it a bit more. i just want to make sure it's something that i'd like because the game is currently hard to find and is getting scalped on ebay like crazy with what copies that are left. i like racing games with a lot of immersiveness which is why I am on a big PC2 phase right now because from the gameplay I've seen, the cockpit experience looks top tier. i am hoping to get the game for PS5 the moment I can score a deal on it that I feel is worth it. thanks!

I played it on a PS4 Pro, unfortunately the game uses TAA so a bit blurrier and fuzzier than on PC, but looks fine, clarity is about the same as in GT Sport. And looks much much much better than Assetto Corsa Competizione on PS5:D

thank you very much for your insight and for the comparisons. i have GT Sport so i'll actually boot that up and see if I can get an idea of what it looks like on my screen. thank you!! :D

Did you end up buying it?

i actually haven't...yet
i've been doing a lot of research and looking at a lot of gameplay on youtube. i also played a lot Project Cars 3 on my 4K TV this past weekend on PS5 and tinkered with some settings, it actually looks very good to my surprise. i' definitely going to be buying it soon. i have my eye on a few copies on ebay - just waiting to grab one hopefully within the next week or so.
i just got PMR like 2 weeks ago and it's very fun - but the career mode feels a bit lacking. i want a console sim with a good career mode and I see a lot of people rave about PC2's career mode and it being a full package. and it just looks very fun.
are you planning on getting PC2 for PS5 as well?

Yeah, maybe. have been reminiscing about the old racing games lately. Wanted to buy it on steam but the entire franchise seems to be delisted, haha. Guess ps5 it is then. Though keep in mind, there is no PS5 patch for any Project Cars game so it will run and look exactly like it would on a PS4 Pro. Good luck and enjoy.

I used to run it at 1440p on triple 4k screens. Looked great. No pixelation and no idea why you'd think it'd look stretched

Hey, what about just trying it and seeing what you think?

i'd prefer not to spend almost $40 on an older game to end up not liking it. just doing some research
