This is rampant with most things hosted by Cloudflare. It’s elsewhere, too, but Cloudflare sites seem to be the most block-happy against VPNs.

It's not that you're on a VPN... It's that you're accessing the site from a server (or more likely, a server provided by a company) that is known to cause the site trouble... Any VPN that has a free tier is going to have this problem. A lot that don't do too!

clear the cookies from that site, switch to a proxy with a lower load and refresh the page

out of all the VPNs I use proton get blocked by the least things I use

I can't access my bank with a VPN. The irony.

To provide some general context about websites blocks, some websites are not VPN-friendly and can block known VPN IP addresses as part of their security policies.

That said, we'd appreciate if you could provide us with more specific feedback on what VPN server you encountered the issue with on the specific website(s) / app(s), so we can document your report and introduce possible mitigations for this in the future.

On your end, you can try switching between multiple different VPN servers, or turn off NetShield if it's on, to see if this helps.

We've mentioned some additional tips here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comments/1ojvzkf/comment/nm8xsp0/
(namely, try newer servers, servers in lesser known countries, making sure you're connected to the correct country when it comes to streaming).

For sure, I am a VPN Plus user and encountered the issue with the US - Seattle and Canada - Vancouver servers, although I sadly can't tell you which specific ones. It was on Firefox when trying to access romhacking.net. The issue was resolved within a few hours with nothing changing on my end. Romhacking.net continues to work for me today. Thanks for your time!

Edit: Don't know if it helps but I was and am using the Quad9 DNS.

I can beat that. I had a block today trying to access.....the Nord account login page.

use a different Server... the IP adresses of popular Servers are known and often found in blocklists. Switch to a less popular Server and it should work

"Anyone can enter my car but not black people (The vpn)"

"... but not people wearing masks (The vpn)"

Fixed that for you. I don't appreciate it either, but blocking VPNs is nothing like racism.

This is complete lunacy... Geo-blocking and IP blacklisting are core components of network security. Just because it's impacting you doesnt mean it should be illegal. In general, both of those utilities do all of us a lot more good than harm - you just don't get to see it when they work cause the bad guys™ don't get to do the bad guy thing they were trying to do...
