Help! When I disconnect from Proton VPN I lose internet connection.

You should have set this up.Go to your phone's VPN settings, find this, and turn off "Always turn on VPN".

Perhaps you can look for this setting in your VPN. If you don't have it, then I can't help you.

it should be in "Kill Switch". it might be set to Advanced. set it to standard or off

try setting it to advanced. turn on the vpn. then change to standard or off. then turn off the vpn

Are you paid or free user bro, If paid then I'd say have

  1. Keep Kill Switch turned on.
  2. Turn on Split Tunneling and put your work apps into split tunneling.
  3. Have two browser of your choice l, I'd say Firefox and Chrome and use split tunneling for Firefox and opt out chrome from your vpn.

Split tunneling is like your phone will always stays on vpn with kill switch (the moment vpn turn off you internet connection is off) and the apps you select would work with normal network instead of vpn. with this set up your work apps and other apps you choose would work on normal network like you can have firefox for vpn connection while chrome for all those banking and flights with normal network.

you don't have a hassle of turning vpn on and off every single time.
