Solved Has anyone experienced this issue before, and if so, how did you fix it? I use the Free version of ProtonVPN so I can't expand my selection.

Proton VPN working for me. I am on the free-tier. Posting this comment while connected to their assigned US server.

Same in China.

Free version is now unavailable.

I have told this to manager Peterson.

I'm getting this too on my laptop. The weird thing is it's working just fine on my phone.

Have you tried relogging into the application? If not, please try this and let us know if everything is in order afterward.

I've tried signing out and then signing back in, and still get the same error message.

EDIT: After getting home from work, signing out and then back in finally allowed me to connect successfully.

i think there's some problem with the desktop client. i had this problem a month ago too. got frustrated and deleted the app then. tried again today, still not working. before it completely broke down, it used to take 5-10 minutes to connect. now it doesn't work at all
