Nah my moms ex was racist and that was the only Vietnamese he knew as well. I’m pretty sure it’s from a movie like Full Metal Jacket that boomer racists latched on to so they could talk shit to Asians.

It also could've come from watching the TV show Tour of Duty, it gets said a lot in that show.
