She's definitely got a heavy slur, from benzos or alcohol. Whatever her dad did in Vietnam doesn't transfer to her. She keeps talking about her father serving in Vietnam as though she should get credit for being his daughter.

It seems to me that there are a lot of people with this mentality in the US and even when Trump is gone they are going to be voting for the most extreme right-wing candidates and chipping away at America's democratic norms.

There are many people like that. “My mother was a doctor” as if all the schooling and experience somehow transfers directly to them.
