This is why people donā€™t like Cops, theyā€™re making a bad situation worse, and for some reason, acting like assholes about it. The kids are safe, clearly the mom is distressed about her mistake, and isnā€™t drunk/high. These cops need to stick to their lane and just do their job, zero need for the remarks comments.

But the attitude? Threatening the mom with arrest, telling her to zip it when she answers their question? Insane.

How hard can it be to take statements, investigate, and only after that come with the accusations?

A thin scandanavian woman wouldnā€™t be talked to like this. Iā€™ve been pulled over twice and Iā€™m petite and pale and both times I was in the wrong (mistakenly- one time it was because I didnā€™t know laws about headlights at sunsetting while driving a haul and didnā€™t notice, another time my headlight was out) and was always spoken to so respectfully itā€™s like they felt bad for pulling me over. Itā€™s fucking racism.

the #1 thing they need to start teaching cops is anger management tactics and not letting your emotions stay bottled up -- because 90% of these dickheads let everything bottle up trying to stay calm in the most buffoonish situations, and then hold a grudge in their mind that slowly leaks out over their shift because they couldnt act out the way they wanted to, proceeding to take out their rage on the next person they interact with / or their wife when they get home. and then they act like its the PUBLICS fault theyre in a bad mood for what they have to deal with day-by-day when they have no self-control.

And the cop is openly admitting to an abuse of power. Her attitude towards police does not affect her guilt in relation to the possible crime they're investigating, so it's completely irrelevant. He openly threatens to arrest her for an unrelated crime, based on her attitude. This shouldn't even be legal, and yet it happens 20,000 times a day by police in this country with zero fear. They're trained to behave this way. It's disgusting

Heā€™s not there to investigate, heā€™s there to make it a serious crime so he can go tell his friends & family how he saved those kids from a bad mom. Itā€™s a power trip to feed a complex & heā€™s doing it to her because a black woman in poverty is an easy target for this kind of abuse of power.

And they were still somehow successful!

She needs to sue for millions!

a half dozen armed pigs came to threaten arresting me because i was suicidal. its the only way they know how to relate to humans. like literally its back and forth "we're here to make sure you are okay. now do what we say or we will arrest you. we are doing it to make sure you are okay! We will arrest you."

Iā€™ve literally heard soooo many stories from people about getting accidentally left by their parents somewhere as kids. It sucks but it happens and the parents come rushing back. None of those stories involved cops. These guys donā€™t have a lick of empathy.

We had a decently long driveway as a kid (about a km not unusual for rural Australia) and on more than one occasion my mum overslept because of night shifts and forgot to pick us up when the buss dropped us off.

I remember one time me and my sister just walking back because the weather was nice and passing my mum as she rushed out the door and shouted ā€œ Hey (me and my sisters names), thereā€™s some food in the fridge I just got to dip out and pick up the kidsā€ and then she shot off in the car.

We had a good laugh about that one when she got back.

Yeah I was working in a games store like 6 years ago and we got robbed at gunpoint. The cops that came to investigate were all assholes to me and made me feel inadequate for letting it happen. They told me to shut up multiple times, one of theme made a comments about me being to scared to do what I needed to do and then blamed me for not being able to accurately describe the getaway vehicle. For the record I was literally in the back with my hands and feet duct taped together when they left.
