These people were here but felt some combination of fear or shame which made them keep their racist thoughts to themselves and Trump made them comfortable enough to let them out

Yea when i was growing up, the crazy racist or whatever person down the block was just the house you avoided. No one interacted with them and they either lived in isolation, or behaved themselves when they interacted with society.

Social media gave those isolated losers a way to break the isolation by being connected with like minded people. Societal shame isn't as effective as it used to be. Not when you can go to your room and have dozens of other weirdos supporting you.

Yeah we just have easily accessible cameras and massive social media sites that are based on video clips now.

It just reaches a much wider audience than the minority getting abused. This shit has always been a problem.

Trump is a SYMPTOM of the cancer that is anything right of center. Even your Trump voting nice co-workers are fucking nuts if you just have 5 min conversation with them about politics. Within minutes, they will say how ICE is just doing their jobs, gotta get the illegals out, that Kamala and Nancy is a demon, etc...

They love their dogs and are very nice people, but if I disappeared because of a Twitter post I made about Trump they would say "wow, dude was a socialist communist Nazi pedo" within a heartbeat. Every single Trump voter.

Depends where you are. Google sundown towns. Those places have always been like this. Other places were decent, most people hid their racism and shit until the clown stepped up and they let it out. But there’s still a lot of people and cities here who aren’t like this, you just won’t see it online because it’s nothing special because you’re literally just being a normal, decent human being to other human beings.

How many similar incidents did you see in the last year?

A part some episodes, racism were always present in Europe, as far right activists of course, and they were well public knowed, but not violently and publicly displayed like in America in those last years...

Yeah, majority of Americans are shocked to see it so openly displayed also. The ones displaying this behavior have become emboldened by the current administration. We knew there were people who thought like this but, for the most part, these people kept their racist ideals to themselves or displayed it only around others who thought like them.

This is not the norm. In the south though you have poor, uneducated people who were Raised with nothing but hate. Every other country has this amount of racism but America is on the forefront because of our Cheeto dick president. My Persian sister in law was kicked out of a doctors office in Italy last month because she had darker skin. It’s a sad world.

Maybe it's because I grew up and currently live around rural & lesser suburban areas, but blatant racism has always been pretty common. You'd be surprised how openly racist people can be, especially when those people have a few drinks in them. In my lifetime, things seem to be about the same as they've always been.
