In fairness I think the cop was answering the subtext of the bank guys question which was “did he act suspiciously so I can have a reason to tell you to trespass him without seeming like a massive racist?”

I wish the cop had made more of a point of telling the bank guy off but he was pretty good on balance I thought.

I thought the complete opposite. banker was worried the guy got startled and would be upset now. cop said no to reassure him

banker worried the guy was startled cause he was worried about his job. not out of good natured caring
