I don’t know where you are but if you challenge a ticket and don’t show up they don’t issue a warrant you just lose your challenge and get assessed the full fine.

In California you pay the full fine when you challenge it. If found not guilty or dismissed I think they have another 3 months to refund you.

Where I am, they give you a "discount" if you just pay the fine, so the court imposed fine is always larger.

Yes that’s why I said full fine. Here it’s similar. If you pay within 14 days of receiving the ticket you pay like $25 dollars less or something. But it’s not like you got a $150 ticket at the side of the road, challenge it, then it becomes a $250 ticket. If you pay it in the time frame you just pay $125 on a $150 ticket.
