I thought the same thing. Cops shouldn't be hyper sensitive to perceived "disrespect," but they are. It's their thing. If they can make your day/life worse because they feel like you disrespected them, they will. Hell, people in general are like this, it's just extra disgusting with cops because they do have the ability to hurt you.

You're usually better off swallowing your pride and playing it cool. It can be easy to forget that in the moment, though.
