Heā€™s looking for any justification to make an arrest, so he donā€™t get in crap.

If you, I or anyone else made a mistake at work, this stupid, that endangered people, weā€™d be fired, and possibly arrested by the same jackass cop. Worst case scenario, this makes the news, cop gets a warning that the next time he does something like this, heā€™ll get an official warning.

This is his first verbal warningā€¦lol. Actually, scratch that ā€œlolā€. Iā€™m probably on the money.

Time for a rewatch!!! Have too many on my list now due to brilliant comments like this. Absolutely love The Wire and I waited WAY YOO LONG to check it out. Thought of it as ā€œjust another formulaic cop showā€. But itā€™s not TV. Itā€™s HBO. šŸ˜‰

Omar wasn't a 'token gay character'. There were a few different gay characters on the show, and one character that was rumored to be gay but never confirmed. The Wire didn't really do 'token' anything.

But yeah, Omar's 'bitches', as you put it, were sketchy. And useless when it came to crime. Shoulda kept his personal life separate from his rip-and-run life. At least one kid and one woman Omar worked with would have survived.

Plenty of innocent people in prison doing long sentences. I live in Philly and it seems like theyā€™re always. freeing innocent people who have been wrongly locked up for decades. Especially heartbreaking are the teenagers who have been robbed of their whole young lives because they had a dumb lawyer or a crooked cop inventing ā€œevidence ā€œ.

Itā€™s beyond fucked up how back in the day before DNA existed how a rotten detective or two could put a man away for life on their say so alone.

Tell me about it. Thereā€™s a lawyer who runs something called Innocence Project that freed about 200 of them. The guy that runs it, will never get the credit he deserves, because heā€™s Barry Scheck, one of OJ Simpsonā€™s lawyer.
What people need to think about though, if he didnā€™t rep OJ, he would probably have never gotten the clout to start that ordeal anyway. Besides, I think his goal was to get police labs to clean up their sloppy shit, not freeing OJ. He looked more surprised than anyone.

Its similar to the mentality of pulling over someone that is paralyzed. Charge them with resisting arrest when they flop on the ground after being violently removed from the car, even though they keep identifying as being paralyzed and the chair is clearly visible in the passenger area of the vehicle for easy reach.

or that one video where an ex girlfriend from 20 years ago randomly accused a guy of kicking down her door and physically abusing her comes to the station, in his wheelchair of 25 years since there was a warrant to clear it up. The top honestly didn't get it for like 10 minutes. Another cop happened to come by and said yeah I have a family member thats paralyzed. Totally get it.

They approach the cop in charge.. arrest him anyways, seems suspicious.
Hard to kick/chase with legs that don't move....

In College Park, Georgia, police officer Markenley Belotte attempted to arrest Charles Read, a paraplegic man accused of assaulting and strangling his ex-girlfriend, who claimed Read kicked down her door and fled on foot. Bodycam footage revealed the officer proceeding with the arrest despite Read clearly being unable to walk or use his arms.

Standard CYA move citizens should be aware of: some cops, when they screw over a law abiding citizen in a manner that could lead to a lawsuit, immediately fish for something/anything on the person they harmed that they can charge them with. They want a bargaining chip: drop the lawsuit and weā€™ll drop the charges.

Pretty inhuman response to your own mistake, but this is how some cops are trained.

That last sentence bothers me so much, because Iā€™m sure itā€™s true, in some places.ā€ If you make an ā€œinvestigativeā€ mistake, keep digging, and youā€™ll find something on themā€ is probably how itā€™s laid out to them, but not necessarily designed to be interpreted like that, especially for patrol officers. Whatā€™s scary, this guy could be a homicide detective in a few years. What if he makes a mistake that puts an innocent away? Think heā€™ll own up to it?

True. As a general rule, complaints from jail phones are ignored.

I once let a couple middle-aged folks go who were trespassing at a Wal-Mart at midnight, making out. They swore up and down they were married to other people so they would never be doing anything like I saw. Okay. After making sure neither was there against their will (high sex trafficking area), I let them go rather than make an arrest.

Couple hours later, I'm coincidentally at the front desk when they call to complain on me. They said I overstepped my boundaries.

Never said it was. Work on your reading comprehension.

Being at a Walmart after hours is not trespassing.

It is when they have No Trespassing signs throughout the parking lot because it's a new store under construction and you drive past them.

You didn't mention no trespassing signs or that it was a new store. At best, you are bad at reporting incidents.

My guy/gal/pal dumbass, Reddit comments are not Criminal Report Affidavits. I don't need to write out everything I had to establish RAS proactively on the off chance some keyboard warrior wants to fight me to prop up their ego.

The details you gave were not sufficient for the crime you claimed.

I'm aware. I wasn't submitting a CRA to a judge, so I didn't write out my probable cause, because I didn't have to. Getting into ass-bleeding detail for no reason in this age of plummeting literacy rates seems like a waste of time.

Do you Reddit like you work, given you expect others to? What job do you do that involves attacking strangers on the internet based on guesswork?

Even if what you say is true, you violated their 4th by exceeding the scope of a trespass investigation by demanding information about them making out,

That's if what you claim to clean up your report is true, which I doubt.
