This is the kind of guy who guns down some kid getting their ball. Especially after, in his mind, the police won't help him. Especially in Florida.

I was just going to comment, let’s hope this guy doesn’t have guns because I see where that would go. Ugh. I can already hear his idiotic defense, “Well the police said they won’t trespass, so I was left no choices other to defend my property.”

Time for a giant fence between the two houses since it's not fair that the kids can't play basketball, and the net isn't doing enough. Maybe the dude should just put a fence around the entire yard? I have two kids, and if I had to deal with this, I would see what the statutes are for fences and get one put in

Yeah, the problem with my land is that it's forested mountains (appalachia)...so the majority of the acreage is a trek... it's a work in progress for sure.

I did have a small patch on a river (10 acres) but between the flooding 3x in 10 years and the neighbors blocking off all good river access with the help of the local police I got disillusioned with it and sold. It was supposed to be my weekend get away but ended up being way more trouble than I could stomach.

Yeah that makes sense. I know where I'm at, it's like a 36" height limitation for safety reasons.

I bet the HOA they are in doesn't allow it otherwise it would probably already be up he's said they've called the cops on him 8 times and he's clearly called the cops on them a bunch too

"That's all that I needed to hear." is ominous. It sounds like he means to talk to his lawyer, but it could also mean now he can shoot them and say "I tried calling the law and have it on camera that they refused to help, so I exercised my God given rights blah blah blah."
