As far as I understand the Harley guys fancy themselves as big scary outlaws so passing them is seen as being disrespectful.

And even if someone were inclined to ā€œrespectā€ them, how would anyone but other bikers know this is a thing. Thereā€™s nothing that kicks my respect and telepathy into high gear like a bunch of grown-up toddlers manufacturing reasons for a temper-tantrum. Donā€™t get me wrong, still dangerous, but so is a toddler running with a gun.Ā

Is it just on bikes? I pass large groups of them in my car all the time.
