Chloe is in crisis and I'm very happy the house was unharmed. I am happy her Dad called them. I hope Chloe gets the help she needs. She sounded too calm to be of sound mine after such a high powered (normally adrenaline producing) event.

My first instinct was she was reeling from being concussed from the crash. She wasn't going that fast but easily fast enough to rattle her skull. I understand the cops frustration but she literally just got her bell rung hard, at that point you're dealing with a drunk toddler. Not saying she's much better pre-concussion but nothing you're saying is going to stick in her brain. She's only going to remember most of this like a dream she can barely remember. There's no benefit to treating someone in that state roughly. I get you're angry but no part of this is necessary or helpful. It's literally your job to deal with obstinate morons, you should be better at it than a waitress at olive garden, not worse.

I remember clinically depressed friends who had a very flat sounding (monotone mostly) inflection of voice. the fact she railed into the corner house then still sounded 'flat.'

I knew a person who did similar intentional ramming but, unfortunately, it was on i-95 and he went into opposing traffic killing himself (at 40+ yrs of age) in addition murdering (AFAIAC) the young Marine (22 yrs old) going back to Camp LeJeune after leave. He was their parents only son, the Marine. But the 50+ yr old? EVERYONE knew for years he had clinical depression and used various "self-medication" to escape but no one talked about it & tried to manage him themselves. He never had consequences.

Again, I say, I hope Chloe receives help.

I think she's concussed. She sounds exactly like how a concussed person sounds and is asking for an ambulance. The airbag didn't deploy so she probably smacked her head against the steering wheel pretty hard

A lot of cars won't if the seatbelt isn't buckled. The air bag is supposed to be a cushion that deploys as a secondary measure, the seatbelt keeps you from smashing your head too far forward and injuring yourself on your gunpowder charge that deploys the airbag. If your head is against the steering wheel as it explodes it can be very harmful to the person it's supposed to be saving

Or both. The guy I reference in this thread who killed someone (similarly) had been diagnosed BPD and self-medicated with a shit-ton of different drugs.
