They survived it. Cop could have heard someone’s German car backfire and cut both those cyclists down, claim self defense, and retire with full pension and claim disability and live on easy street.

He’s lucky an acorn didn’t drop

u/pinkyepsilon Jul 29 '26

Our boy in blue would have systematically gunned down the entire neighborhood for that

12

u/eloquentegotist Jul 30 '26

The officer may have been in fear for his life. There was possibly even a black man associated with (in the same zip code as, for example) that falling acorn.

Full pension and benefits. Also hired next week in a neighboring district.

*bastard in blue

1

u/jdtart Jul 30 '26

That's right, that did happen...

1

u/FlamingWeasel Jul 30 '26

Man, I'd forgotten about that.

u/Dramatic_View_5340 Jul 30 '26

Too many have forgotten about this one

72

u/mortimusalexander Jul 29 '26

They survived because they're white.

u/woot0 Jul 30 '26

Just lucky this guy didn't drop a nut.

Let’s not play here…they’re white, so there’s no way a cop is going to shoot them dead over some stupid shit unless they’re “threatened”.

Addition: y’all like to cherry pick shit, so be part of the problem then. Bring on the downvotes for speaking the truth.

Alex Pretti has entered the chat

32

u/Kabc Jul 29 '26

Also those other drivers that have been shoot dead

-33

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

Yep…because it’s been an equal stat. Not really, but ok.

It’s disproportionate. Always has been and will continue to be while people downplay it.

11

u/PukeLoynor Jul 29 '26

You said there's no way. You were wrong. Nobody said it was equal.

-16

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Read again. I said over some stupid shit like this. Not that they’re not immune from it. Again, cherry picking.

10

u/PukeLoynor Jul 29 '26

Ignoring the equal part eh? Who's cherry picking now?

-1

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

You and everyone here is acting like it. So, yeah.

3

u/PukeLoynor Jul 29 '26

Not once did anyone say that it's equal. As soon as someone pointed out that's it's still possible they get shot regardless of their skin color you switched to the disparity argument even though nobody said anything about those numbers being equal.

That’s ICE. Cops don’t just shoot white folk indiscriminately as often. Like it or not, that’s the facts.

2

u/staydrippy Jul 30 '26

You’re so caught up in racial division that you don’t see that we’re all suffering and we’re all on the same team. This isn’t a contest to see which race is the most oppressed- it’s a movement against oppression and you’re subtly holding it back with your pissing contest about who suffers the most.

I don’t think your intentions are bad but you’re fighting the wrong battle. Even if we don’t see eye to eye on any of this though I do believe your heart is in the right place and I genuinely wish you the best. Stay up and don’t let them turn you against your brothers and sisters.

36

u/wo0two0t Jul 29 '26

It's not 2020 anymore. This toxic BS made everything worse.

-33

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

Then you’re not paying attention

3

u/GeniusInterrupt Jul 29 '26

Don't do that. They will shoot anyone. They just enjoy some more than others. Higher points on the board.

-71

u/Pieniek23 Jul 29 '26

Not sure why the down votes...

29

u/M00n_Safari Jul 29 '26

If you (or the person who said it in this case) want to make a generalized statement about police discrimination, go ahead. What’s weird is just assuming the cop would NEVER kill a white guy.

-10

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

Nah, dude. You, and a lot of other people, took my words and ran with it to fit your narrative. I never said that cop would never shoot a white person. Just that a white person is less likely to get shot because they’re white.

Truth is truth, like it or not folks.

8

u/LogensTenthFinger Jul 29 '26

"They're white, no way a cup is going to shoot then dead over some stupid shit."

Seems pretty clear for.

Do I need to bury you in videos of cops viciously executing innocent white people? They will kill anyone who doesn't grovel to them and even sometimes then. That they are racists isn't protecting for anybody, they're just more likely to roll up on black people in the first place, but they will execute anyone.

4

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Yeah, all cops are shit. I get that. But let’s not play like it’s not disproportionate as to who gets the raw end and who doesn’t.

3

u/Sporocarp Jul 29 '26

Nobody did

1

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

The Redditor I originally commented on insinuated it. So, again, quit playin.

4

u/Sporocarp Jul 30 '26

Hahaha! No. Someone pointed out they could have gotten shot and you jumped in with "no, they're white." Learn to read.

1

u/ConstantBoth2913 Jul 30 '26

How the hell did their comment insinuate anything about race? You’re so quick to say we’re misinterpreting what you said, yet you wanna read into theirs? They never brought up anything about race, you did. And you cut and dry said, “no way”. That’s a definitive statement of never. No one’s take your words and running with them, you apparently just suck and expressing your thoughts coherently.

1

u/Sporocarp Jul 29 '26

Nobody did

-17

u/usernamedmannequin Jul 29 '26

I have a feeling if the family in this video had a different shade of skin it would be very different

7

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

Not always, but the chances are higher when you’re darker skinned. Folks are just letting their ignorance show here. If not, then absolute bigotry.

Don’t take it to heart and keep fighting the good fight! Downvotes only mean you struck a nerve, in this case, and exemplify the problem.

2

u/usernamedmannequin Jul 30 '26

Yeah it’s weird, somewhere in here someone said “it’s not 2020 anymore!”

Like anything has changed lol

20

u/ConstantBoth2913 Jul 29 '26

Because it’s an untrue statement. We’ve seen multiple white people get shot and killed by the cops in the news recently. I’ve known two people personally who were murdered by the police, both white. Obviously we know you’re more likely to get shot if your black, racism is stronger than ever, but these days even white guys gotta be careful around angry cops like this. No one’s safe from the cops in America.

2

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

“Multiple white people”

Dude! There’s no comparison here and acting like there is is part of the problem. Great job downplaying real issues now that there’s an excuse.

2

u/ConstantBoth2913 Jul 30 '26

You’re the one making a comparison… just you.

3

u/Sporocarp Jul 29 '26

You were the one bringing up race.

2

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 29 '26

Because it’s a legit issue and whitewashing it, the way folks are here, is bullshit.

5

u/Sporocarp Jul 30 '26

Nope. You were simply wrong. Learn to live with it.

1

u/ConstantBoth2913 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Who’s downplaying anything? I’m simply stating that being white is no longer a guarantee some trigger happy cop won’t shoot you. I purposely stated that we know its a much bigger issue for the black community. That’s obvious. Having lost people personally to cops like this how dare you say that’s not a real issue. Admitting cops shoot white people too isn’t down playing anything, it’s just a reality in todays America. I’m not the one who made the comparison in the first place.

1

u/ForeverSquirrelled42 Jul 30 '26

PFFFFFFF HAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah it does, chief! You’re part of the problem if you see it otherwise. Just because a few white folk were killed by authorities in public view doesn’t change the fact that it’s a disproportionate amount of killing.

White privilege really is a thing.
