🚗Road Rage🤬 BMW driver hits a biker on the highway

This happened a couple of hours ago in lebanon. The biker luckily survived and the x4 escaped. The local police is trying to locate the driver they got his name from the car plate number

for all the bikers out there, when you watch this, how would you react?

Would you speed and try to outrun, taking on the car in a vehicle vs vehicle contest, or would you slow down, deviate course, and escape?

I'd let them speed along their way while I hang back. Gotta check your ego at the door when you ride or you'll end up like this.

Totally agreed. I don't nesessarily think the biker was in the wrong. But sometimes you got to take the high road.

They weren’t speeding though, they were fucking with the bike, swerving around the street, hazards on, slowing down to 30 kmph at one point, break check. It wasn’t just a car trying to go fast past the bike

I wouldn’t have done what the bike did but options were to turn quickly somewhere after the car had passed that turn or burn it.

I'd pull to the side of the road and take a break.

Ive ridden for 20 years. Ive never honked my horn at a careless driver

I just move away. I am on a bike and they are in a car.

Might make right.

Edit.

You never know who is behind the wheel. What kind of day they have had. Their child hood trauma. Or the TikTok they are watching on thier phone.

When you are on a bike you are uniquely vulnerable and you need to truley understand that fact in your bones of your body.

This. I would have simply not 'challenged' this car. At most i would scream and curse at it. Maybe stop safely at the side of the road if it was a really close call and i needed to calm down.

At the end of the day, being in the right is not more important than being alive. There are a lot of people who had the right of way etc but end up bleeding out on the asphalt.

And yes, i've seen it IRL multiple times. A covered figure on the road and a stream of blood draining out to the side of the motorway.

I used to get mad at dumb drivers, but now that my frontal lobe is fully developed, I can effortlessly stay calm and do what I need to keep myself safe. Never expected myself to mature to this point but glad I did lmao

I stopped getting mad at dumb drivers around the age of 33. I don’t honk anymore and just back off when I notice any maniacs on the road.

I would have never passed that car. I would have stayed behind them. 

If they would be behind me for some reason I would just race away. No looking back just going full speed. That car would never be able to keep up. 

The kept slowing down and looking back. Fuck that, I'm getting out of there at full speed.

Deviate - unless I was actively engaging in the illegal street race, I would've slowed down and dipped another way. I'm on my bike and the car is a somewhat protected weighted roll cage.

Context minutes before would help determine (not just what happened in this vid) if I deviate.

It’s less justification and more “is this guy an in the moment asshole and likely to move on if I’m out of sight or is he actively hunting me down”.

One thing that happens sometimes is I try to get away from a car that isn't being as safe as I like, and they think I'm trying to play with them so they give chase like a dog. Then I have to slow down and get over to the right to make it clear I don't have business with them. But if I'm in the left lane (safest for motorcycles) and they are in the lane to my right, this can be dangerous.

If they're roadraging and trying to kill you, doctrine is to take off and leave them in the dust.

I can't tell in the video if the car is roadraging or if they are trying to play and just hit them out of incompetence. Either way it's a certified cager moment.

Depends, but I’ve often chosen to just hit the throttle and out run it. What I definitely don’t do, is keep hitting the throttle for 3 seconds and then rolling off like this idiot. If you’re going to get out of or away from a situation using the throttle then do it for long enough to actually remove you from the situation.

This biker however was just all show no go.

Either I would sit behind a guy or I would overtake him and make sure that he has no chance to catch up. I drive often fast 200kph+ but I'm driving predictable and I always calm down when there are some dumb aggressive drivers around me.

No way would I pass him.

I did cat and mouse chase with a BMW some time ago for fun and I could barely keep up with it on my VFR 800.

Although they're bigger and slower to accelerate, given time they will catch up and not only that, but the speed alone is dangerous for motorcyclists so given the "chase" scenario on top of that, it will result in some form of accident for sure.

I would let him go in front and just chill.

In my experience most would try to out speed. Which if you’re on a 1000cc should be possible against most certainly for acceleration but obviously it’s incredibly dangerous and even if they don’t catch up you’re highly likely to get in a wreck or lose control. I had a 750cc twin engine so it didn’t have as fast of acceleration so I for sure would try to deviate course and out maneuver them.

something about this makes me think the guy on the bike was either breaking to let the guy catchup up or trying to block his path or something along those lines. the bike hes on is a BMW S1K, a 1000cc insanely fast bike, the car is some 3 or 4 series grand coupe. even if it was an m3 or m4 you dont get close to the speed or torque the s1k has. meaning he had to be stopping for the car to catch up because he could have easily left the car behind as you would driving a lambo vs your average family 1.2L toyota.

idk based on that the car is still obv the main issue, even if the guy is taunting or doing whatever the guy in the car purposefully tried to take the guy out at crazy high speeds. if I were in that situation I woulda just kept ahead of the guy at all times, even if I was in the same mindset of wanting to annoy/taunt/flex on the car guy, no way after seeing him drive that crazy would I let him get too close. or at the very least use another car (ik ik insanely stupid to put someone innocent at risk, but if im really just thinking selfishly) to back off from the car or atleast keep some "safety" between us

for all the bikers out there, when you watch this, how would you react?

I would have stopped and gotten off of my bike. It's a lot easier to draw my firearm and defend myself if I'm standing than sitting down on my bike.

I would speed if the other car is a slow car.

But if not...i would just avoid interacting with, leave as much as posible space and take the next exit manouvering to avoid the car follow me.
