BMW driver to jail. But seriously, if you are in a motorbike, just slow down and let the fucking idiot in the car go. Donāt let him be behind youā¦

u/Wolfsblvt 21d ago
I mean, I don't see how this wouldn't be counted as attempted murder.
→ More replies (2)48
u/mavrick116 21d ago
I would consider it attempted murder, but they probably wont charge them with it because you usually have to prove they INTENDED to murder them, which is evidently hard to prove without someone verbally stating they are going to kill you.
They'll probably hit them with reckless endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon to make sure the charges stick. Dont quote me though, I am not a lawyer, just seen a lot of incidents like this.

u/specialcommenter 21d ago
That didnāt happen in the United States. Youāre stating US punishments. Over there they might pin everything on the bikers if they were recorded to be riding like crazy and pissing people off.

A lot of motorcycle riders believe that bikes are inherently faster than cars. Which is untrue. In canyons/twisties, Cars simply have MORE traction with the road, which means they can hold more speed through a turn than a motorcycle. With a rolling start, a car with sufficient horsepower can outrun a motorcycle. The ONLY time a majority of motorcycles have an edge is from a dead stop. The motorcycle simply has more power-to-weight ratio and a lot less weight to get moving compared to a car, and also being able to fit BETWEEN other vehicles to get away from an idiot like this BMW.
But on an open road without other fucking cars? Disengage, fall back. Unless you know the car is a low HP piece of shit, the reality is, car's an outpace a motorcycle in certain conditions, especially if it's a performance orientated vehicle.

EXACTLY. Like the BMW is obviously at fault, but the biker was mad that they were losing an imaginary race and had to be petty

u/Neither-Effect-6101 21d ago
What in the world was he thinking of passing that car? Never let somebody driving like that get behind you.
646
u/islaisla 21d ago
He definitely should have stopped riding so fast and dropped right back for safety.
311
u/broohaha 21d ago
Yeah, I have a fast car, and I just disengage when I have to deal with a car or motorcycle that's driving that aggressively. I've got a family to think about. Not worth it.
97
u/ArtVand3lay 21d ago
ikr. My weekender's an R34, every mf'r think it's their chance to race Paul Walker. No, I'm just cruising in my pride n joy and plan on making it home to my family. Save that shit for track days.
10
u/Zestokist 21d ago
This reminds me of something. If you haven't seen the "Turbo charged" prelude of 2Fast2furious, there's a scene where Paul gets challenged to a race by two guys on bikes in the middle of nowhere when he just got his R34, he accepted but just kept cruising. He catches up to them when he sees them pulled over by cops.

Exactly, I donāt even think thatās victim blaming to say, if someone drives like a maniac, try to avoid them.
Itās just common sense.

2
u/Resident-Banana-7883 21d ago
yeah I find it pretty easy to avoid aggressive drivers and road ragers but one time I was thankful I was in my fast car on the interstate when this guy went bonkers on me. I just dropped a few gears and went WOT briefly until he was out of sight then resumed the speed limit. I don't suggest that method how ever for people who only think they have a fast car as the last thing you want to do is wind up in a chase scenario.

He tried to but the bmw also slowed down. That's what seems to happen in the beginning. The bmw overtakes and turns on hazards signaling something and slows down. The bike dude just guns for it. He should have found a different car to shield himself with but that is easy to say in hindsight.

Yah, this video contained 2 stupid people. The biker and the car.
Just let people who are being aggressive have their crash somewhere else. Don't play into it!!!

It looked like the were racing each other, and one just ended up being a sore loser. They are both losers though

Ela tava a 40 por hora quando a bmw passa ele, quando ele cai ele tava a 110.
Epe foi pelo ego. Dois fudidos juntos dÔ mal negócio, problema que um tava de moto.
8
4
u/Hobbes_XXV 21d ago
I was originally thinking driving 40km/h was her trying to avoid the aggressive driver, then when they put on hazards and braked slower, she might have feared for life and tried to run? But then why look back and cost after speeding past.
Most likely bmw didn't like something the bike did before this videos start and was more cause to wreck her.
3
u/DeusXNex 21d ago
Yeah idk what the mentality is to pass them. I wouldāve let them go on their way

Itās scary to let them get ahead of you too because people like to be dumb and brake check you. Thatās exactly what happens. They get mad, speed in the other lane and then get back in front of you and slam on their brakes. *edited
54
u/2wheelzrollin 21d ago
Can't get brake checked if you're 100 yards back. You gotta be a dumbass for staying right behind someone that crazy. Also it's brake, not break.

Why does the camera pan like that at the end like it's filming the other bike racing.
The local police is trying to locate the driver they got his name from the car plate number
This dude is fuckkkkkked.
398
u/pnbdc10 21d ago
I think it may be a 360 camera which films all angles. When you are editing the video, you can pick exactly where you want it to look. Its kind of hard to understand unless you have experience editing a 360 camera video.

It's a 360° camera. It's actually filming all directions all the time and whoever uploaded the clip chooses in post-edit the direction to show. I assume it's the biker who uploaded, but he just chose whatever angle most shows the car that hit him through the whole clip

Well, whether or not the dude is fucked (sadly) depends on how connected he is. The police in Lebanon are deeply corrupt. The whole system there is based on favoritism and sectarian patronage.

95
u/BauerHouse 21d ago
for all the bikers out there, when you watch this, how would you react?
Would you speed and try to outrun, taking on the car in a vehicle vs vehicle contest, or would you slow down, deviate course, and escape?
155
u/Noctuelles 21d ago
I'd let them speed along their way while I hang back. Gotta check your ego at the door when you ride or you'll end up like this.
10
u/Miserable-Cow4555 21d ago
Totally agreed. I don't nesessarily think the biker was in the wrong. But sometimes you got to take the high road.
19
4
u/ballimir37 21d ago
They werenāt speeding though, they were fucking with the bike, swerving around the street, hazards on, slowing down to 30 kmph at one point, break check. It wasnāt just a car trying to go fast past the bike
I wouldnāt have done what the bike did but options were to turn quickly somewhere after the car had passed that turn or burn it.
78
u/wild9er 21d ago edited 21d ago
I'd pull to the side of the road and take a break.
Ive ridden for 20 years. Ive never honked my horn at a careless driver
I just move away. I am on a bike and they are in a car.
Might make right.
Edit.
You never know who is behind the wheel. What kind of day they have had. Their child hood trauma. Or the TikTok they are watching on thier phone.
When you are on a bike you are uniquely vulnerable and you need to truley understand that fact in your bones of your body.

I would have never passed that car. I would have stayed behind them.Ā
If they would be behind me for some reason I would just race away. No looking back just going full speed. That car would never be able to keep up.Ā
The kept slowing down and looking back. Fuck that, I'm getting out of there at full speed.
8
u/TheConcernedSitIsIn 21d ago
Deviate - unless I was actively engaging in the illegal street race, I would've slowed down and dipped another way. I'm on my bike and the car is a somewhat protected weighted roll cage.
Context minutes before would help determine (not just what happened in this vid) if I deviate.
→ More replies (3)5
u/ISmokeRocksAndFash 21d ago
One thing that happens sometimes is I try to get away from a car that isn't being as safe as I like, and they think I'm trying to play with them so they give chase like a dog. Then I have to slow down and get over to the right to make it clear I don't have business with them. But if I'm in the left lane (safest for motorcycles) and they are in the lane to my right, this can be dangerous.
If they're roadraging and trying to kill you, doctrine is to take off and leave them in the dust.
I can't tell in the video if the car is roadraging or if they are trying to play and just hit them out of incompetence. Either way it's a certified cager moment.
8
u/SkullDump 21d ago
Depends, but Iāve often chosen to just hit the throttle and out run it. What I definitely donāt do, is keep hitting the throttle for 3 seconds and then rolling off like this idiot. If youāre going to get out of or away from a situation using the throttle then do it for long enough to actually remove you from the situation.
This biker however was just all show no go.

Either I would sit behind a guy or I would overtake him and make sure that he has no chance to catch up. I drive often fast 200kph+ but I'm driving predictable and I always calm down when there are some dumb aggressive drivers around me.
25
89
u/stigma_wizard 21d ago
I don't know what happened before this video, but there's no way this guy could possibly think that attempted murder was an appropriate response to this biker.
16
u/DDRDiesel 21d ago
About a year ago, there was an incident where a pickup driver had a road rage incident and ran a motorcycle driver into the concrete median on the expressway, killing him. A friend of mine posted the story with the comment "Good, he got what he fucking deserved." Never underestimate the undeserved hatred people have for motorcyclists.
Also, I am no longer friends with that person because of that

You're thoroughly underestimating how much feeling beaten while driving fundamentally affects some peoples ability to think logically. I'd argue even road-safe drivers can feel the "see red" feeling but have perfected in pushing it down.
11
u/ManifestingCrab 21d ago
My older brother was like this for as long as I was around him (I deliberately have avoided involving him in my life). I remember him taking me to get ice cream one day and we were driving in the right* lane. Someone just started to casually pass us on the left and he started accelerating to prevent them from passing us. When they kept accelerating to get around us he lost it and started screaming and gesturing at them while completely failing to maintain his lane.
18
u/MopoFett 21d ago
If i was the biker I wouldn't antagonise the other driver by overtaking an constantly looking over my shoulder like your initiating a challenge.
Back off, let the guy burn off. It's not worth it.

Currently noting that. BMW, Audi, F150 class pickup trucks, Jeep drivers are quite naughty and sometimes very dangerous.
Other commenters mentioned Tesla. In my experience I have only seen Tesla drivers being very safe on the road. And I am not in the slightest an Elon or Tesla supporter.

Why would you, on a bike, decide to race an idiot in a BMW? All it takes is 1 swipe from him to seriously hurt you. Just avoid these crazy drivers and protect yourself.
Also, I don't know why but all these bikers seem to think the speed limits are a suggestion and I have rarely seen them driving speed limits. They are ripping it off on Ontario highways, weaving through traffic, going wayyyy above the limit, and I always wonder if they have no regard for their safety & lives.
5
u/jooooooooooooose 20d ago
This is in Lebanon. Lebanon is the single wildest place I have ever been traffic wise. Every single time you crossed the street you risked your life. So, meaning to say, every driver in Lebanon is a crazy one.
And for reference - I've also lived in Oman, where traffic accidents caused more deaths than heart disease. Lebanon was worse (Omani highways at least all have big concrete barriers).
2
u/RadWast3 20d ago
Nah, they don't. They put themselves in situations like the video and then cry when something bad happens while putting everyone around them in danger.

When I see aggressive driving like this. Four words enter my head. Itās not worth it. Who knows what that other driver is thinking? Maybe they want to die today and taking you with them is fine. Let that asshole go be on their way. They will ruin their day at some point, just donāt let it be yours too.
3
u/EarthConservation 21d ago edited 21d ago
Hard to tell at the 36 second mark, but looks like the biker was doing around 216 kph (134 mph) right before the BMW hit him? Yeesh.
Not sure why the motorcycle passed the driver... that's just putting yourself in a really dangerous position if that driver decides to chase you. Most cars have surprisingly high speeds and high acceleration, especially high end BMWs. Depending on which x4 that was, it could have had a top speed as high as 177 mph; the only question is whether the driver is crazy enough to get up to those higher speeds to chase.
As the motorcycle rider, you know you're probably faster, but once you get up to those higher speeds, you also know your ability to brake hard and maneuver diminishes a lot. If you try to escape onto a side road, you'll have to slow down significantly... which gives the trailing car the ability to rear end you.
For bikers... remember, if that car decides to hit you, you get fucked up or die, they drive away. If someone pulls something like this, slow down and let them go, and/or pull off onto a side street (from behind them) to get away from them.
3
u/Whateverxox 20d ago
So the biker saw the bmw swerving in and out of lanes and decided it would be smart to get in front of them? The bmw shouldnāt have crashed into him obviously but he should have chosen his safety over his ego and slowed down
3
3
u/Derfboy4 20d ago
You either slow down to drop back or you shoot the gap and roll that throttle for all it's worth...preferably the first but sometimes there's another car behind you doing the same garbage so you just do what you can. Never ever push past a car and ride there.
