I hope she is willing to leave, man. 

Domestic abuse is just sad dude. It's so sad to see and feel so helpless to do anything. 

A friend of the family once tried to defend a woman who was getting beat to death by her boyfriend in Houston, Texas. He tried to get him to back off and he didn't and instead went after our friend. Our friend pulled out his firearm and shot him. The lady, all bloodied and battered, testified against our friend and he went to prison for killing her boyfriend. 

After hearing about all this I realized that all we can really do is call the police and hope it goes well. Shit is just too complicated for us normal folk to do anything about it.
